I'll tell you what. PBS has the best "reality tv" programming around in my opinion. Fuck Fear Factor, screw Survivor...Colonial House, and the programs that preceeded this one, have it done right. Take a bunch of people back in time for a few months or so, and in the whole process you learn about that time. You realize how hard and harsh living was then, how to break away from 20th and 21st century living. If you really want more information on this, go here. I'm going to bed now. It is way passed my bedtime.

I love the Houses!

Yes! These are (by far) the best shows out there right now. I was quite shocked that this Colonial House family was hit so hard with some rather 21st century news. So tragic-it kinda disrupted the atmosphere of the whole Colonial timeframe as well.

Ok- I sat here for 5 minutes trying to determine which was my favorite of the houses. I can't decide. They're all awesome!

I have been aware of all of them, but never got too wrapped up in them because I never saw them from the start. This one, however, I came in pretty close to the beginning. It was the first episode and I only a few minutes into it. The news of Bethany's fiance dying was shocking and a harsh reality. As isolated as they are, it is easy to get trapped in the life of the 17th century settlers that they are playing, but in reality, they are in the 21st century after all, so that is always possible. I don't know about the houses on the other shows as I haven't seen much of them, but the governor's house is obviously the best of the colonial houses.

totally unrelated- I found a dress that I will never wear again....gotta love those ever-expanding hips!

It's really gorgeous...I wore it to prom with Anthony, but it's not poofy or anything. It's long and black with lace sleeves. It should fit you...you're such a wee thing! And since we are both petite gals, you should have no probs with hemming.

I'd be happy to look at it.
