Journey into my psyche...

I am watching The Adventures of Baron Munchausen; I love this movie. There was a scene where the ship is going to the moon, and Sally and the Baron are sleeping with their hands/arms over the edge. Anyhow, it reminded me of something. There is a habit of mine, something I am always aware of.

Since I was a child, I was always aware of my hands and arms when I was sleeping, well, in the process of falling asleep anyway. See, I had this fear, or superstition that if my hands or arms were over the side of the bed, that a monster from under the bed and eat them. Of course, I *know* now that there are no monsters that will rip my hands or arms off, yet I still keep them close to me, and away from the edges to this day. Is that not silly?

I think most children thought something or other was under the bed and grew out of it as they got older, but I wonder how many people still keep to that habit as an adult like I do?

probably more than would like to admit...

I think a lot of people have more repressed childhoods, or childish things, deep down, and those that let it surface get scolded for not "acting their age" and such, so we bury that stuff further, to try to be cool with society, and not get picked on by it.

hence the fact you don't normally see adults skipping thru the parking lot...

Note to self: Must skip through a parking lot soon. :P
