Chas' birthday

Although I took the day off yesterday to be with Chas for his birthday, I didn't actually get to sleep in much. He had planned to go to an Apple related seminar in the morning. So I went with him. Sure, I know NOTHING about Quark Express, but that wasn't the point. I brought my amusements (gameboy, words find and book) to keep me occupied, but I was *with* him the whole time. Afterward, we came home for a little while. We did some work and then went to the bank and to lunch. Came home after that and we renewed our apartment lease and found out we're getting a ceiling fan and our carpets cleaned because we were not offered it last time. Once we got back, we watched some music videos on disc and then had a nap around 6. An hour and a half later, we went out and made our way to The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate with a number of our friends. Not everyone could come, but some people who we didn't think would make it did, and that made him happy. Tonight is dinner with the families at Shells.

Well, on my way to work for me. Blech!

Fuckity fuck fuck fuck! (posessed by Kristen for a minute there)

To my lj friends:

I emailed some of you this already, but for the benefit of those I don't have email addresses for, I will repeat it here. The bastards at work have decided to block the lj site (among many others). This means I cannot update or check my friends list during the day like I normally would. I know it is not my computer only, as I tested the ones around me, and [livejournal.com profile] phishtails found out the same thing and he sits in a different part of the office/floor. Anyhow, I can reply to comments via email but can't see them afterward. For now. I don't know how long this block will last, and I say this because the blocks never last, but it might be a different program now and it might stick for a while. Of course, with all the lockdowns, there are plenty of people trying to get around it. I ran into some people who have hacked into our new machines...the super locked down ones. The ones with no calculator, word pad, notepad, or command line, without most of the control panel contents, no right clicking, no control+alt+delete to end crashed programs...they designed special programs to terminate the ones that are prone to crashing on a regular basis, shall I go on? Lets just say that life on the newer, better machines still sucks major ass!

On the happier side, we just got back from having birthday dinner with the folks. I how I love free dinners! Though,I do feel terrible for all the little baby lobsters who gave up their little tails for my meal tonight. Almost makes me want to go back to being a vegetarian thinking about it.

Well, going to read up on what I have missed all day.
