1. Baise Moi This is a 2000 French film which literally translated is Fuck Me. The technical English title is Rape Me.

I describe it as a female version of Natural Born Killers... only it's subtitled and it happens in suburban neighbourhoods in France.

The soundtrack has WICKED French techno (which is also a guiltless pleasure of mine) and the female leads are gorgeous without being Porno Valley vapid. The sex is violent and the women moreso. It's a great, small film. (If anyone knows where I can score a film poster en francais, je serais infiniment redevable. (Grateful supplied by Roget's... and I'm not sure I got the tense on serais correct. I'm not sure that serais is the right verb, either. Oh well. French is not even a second language for me.)

But I digress. This film has everything I enjoy in a movie except for Nazis. Gratuitous nudity, sexuality, violence and coarse language. So there.

2. The Brave Little Toaster This is a 1997 animated feature based on a book by Thomas M. Disch. It is a great story that children and adults should be told about loneliness, being abandoned and the need for community leaders.

Notable voices are acted by Jon Lovitz and the late Phil Hartman.

3. Finding the perfect mascara. This is an ongoing quest. I'm pretty content with Maybelline Great Lash - Blackest Black, but it's not PERFECT. It's good. It's great for everyday.

Benefit's Bad Girl Lash is great. It's better than the Great Lash... but it only lasts a month. I've purchased this twice at $22 a tube, and when it's flaky and lumpy in a month to six week.

4. Flylady.net is a site designed mostly for moms, but it has useful information for anyone who finds themselves with laundry piled up, "no time" to get the cleaning and whatnot done around the house. It set me up with a daily, weekly, monthly and seasonally routine that allows me to get many things done in a week. I was a member for 4 years until last month, when I figured out that I was pretty much doing the same things over and over again so I set up my schedule and quit receiving the emails. It's great if you can just overlook the heterocentric, stay-at home mother focussed, married to a man who doesn't pick up his own shit nature of the site.

5. Hating children. I think this is pretty self-explanatory. I really get creeped out by kids. I don't spend a lot of time around the spawn of other people... but they really freak me out. I like teenagers way better. I don't have children. I'm not having children. Until your children are old enough to have a conversation with me about current events or shopping for mascara I'm not really interested in being around them.

6. Montreal - The best Canadian city during the months of June, July, August and September. Founded as a trading post in 1611, it's one of the oldest cities in the country as well. No one in this country does summer like the Montrealers. Festival season is the best in the country. It is also home to my favourite hockey team.

7. Sudoku. My favourite time killer. I actually prefer logic problems, but the books of sudoku are cheaper and more widely available. I cannot live without things that keep my brain moving. That could be a symptom of my crazy brain. I don't know. But for years now I've noticed that I am always thinking, unless I am asleep or otherwise unconscious.

And those are my interests.
