Late last night...
I found out yesterday that part of Chas' book advance came, so he took me out on a dinner date. Also, since he is leaving tomorrow for the weekend, he wanted to take me somewhere special, so we finally got to Cafe Aragon at long last. This is the place we had wanted to go to for our anniversary, but they were closed that day. But with errands such that needed running, we did not get there until nearly 9pm, so that ruled out the paellas, as they take 45 minutes to prepare.
We started with an order of Chorizo al Brandy (spanish sausage and onions flambeed in brandy) as an appetizer and we ordered a pitcher of sangria to go with our meal. Chas had the Bistec Milanesa (Breaded Steak topped with homemade marinara sauce, ham, and melted mozzarella cheese) and I had the Salmon al Carbon (Fresh Salmon marinated in lemon and butter and grilled to perfection) and each of our dinners came with rice (white or yellow), vegetable, potato and our choice of house salad or soup. In true Chas n Heather form, he got white rice while I had yellow, though I had soup this time while he had salad. For dessert, we had Crema Catalina which was described as being creme brulee, but in my opinion, it was far better. Our meal was a bit pricey, but then we had the funds to splurge on, and quite honestly, it was really nice to be able to order what I really wanted for a change, regardless of price. Next time, we will have paella when we have more time. But we did enjoy ourselves and had a fantastic dinner. :)
