My parents are on their way over to pick me up and take me to dinner. I think I may get my avgolemono soup after all. I know that will make me feel better. A nice big bowl of hot soupy goodness made from the heart. Yum!
avgolemono soup!! be still, my beating heart! that was my mom's #1 craving when she was pregnant with me, and i love it to this very day... though i don't have the opportunity to enjoy it very often. *yum*!!
*sniff* I didn't get any. My mom was starting to feel sick, so we had to find somewhere to eat fast, and there is no Greek restaurant within a few minutes of where we live. Mind you, the ones we have are not that far, but in a situation where you have to eat or else be sick, they were too far. Anyhow, we went to the nearby Olive Garden and I had soup there instead. It wasn't avgolemono, but it was good.
Oh, in a previous post I talked about it, I linked it to a recipe. You can always try to make it so you can have it more often. *I* could try to make it too. Hmmm.
A recipe, eh? That's not a bad idea ;) When I was younger, my dad and I used to ride our bikes at the beach, and we discovered this tiny hole-in-the-wall greek restaurant, and i would always order the soup, each weekend we went. so good. mmm. maybe i'll make some soon.
Yeah. Scroll down a bit. Was within the last week I posted it...the only other mention of the soup recently. One of my best friends is Greek so when we visit *home*, mom always cooks the most amazing things for us!
