My car is stressing me out. I feel the beginnings of a breakdown...in more than one way, though I am desperately trying to relax and keep my head on straight. Hopefully it just needs something minor to make it better. And not expensive either. Le sigh...

When you say more than one way, you mean both the car and yourself?
If the car does break down, you *know* it's going to be expensive. Maybe for holidays and birthdays you should start asking for gift certs to mechanics... ;)

Yes, that is what I mean. And yes, I should probably ask for money for my car for my birthday, anniversary, and holidays.
