I want this ring...

14K Gold White Topaz Milgrain Ring

I like it in part by it's simplicity, but elegance...the milgrain and swirl on the sides is a nice touch. Also, it is similar to diamond being clear, but has none of the conflict that diamonds have, to my knowledge (and yes there are conflict-free diamonds out there, but white topaz is a little different and unique). Additionally, it does not cost 2 months salary, or whatever that bs is about diamond rings.

Oh yeah, I do recall about your ring, the story, and the ring, and px you sent, too. Cause I wasn't too sure you were even married when we first met in person. heh! ;-)

The Sapphire route was a nice choice indeed, matching it to month you were married. I recall the px. Nice.

Cool you were informed by your roomie and then did your own research. Yes, we are pretty informed about the diamond issue, what goes on in Africa, and then here and etc., and was so surprised they made a movie!

Some CZs are really very nice.

Some of my fave stones are Moonstones, Opals, Garnets, Peridots, and all shades of Jade, hee.

Peridot is my birthstone, and can be quite nice, only I tend to see it paired with yellow gold a lot, and I just prefer white gold to yellow. I like tanzanite , aquamarine, amythest, sapphire, topaz, some tourmaline, amber, carnelian, and many others, though some I like you rarely see in rings, or in rings that would fit my petite fingers/hands. There is a beautiful carnelian ring I like from Pyramid, but I hesitate buying it because it looks like it might be gigantic on my finger.

Yup on the white gold. :-)
