I know it has been a while since I posted.

I haven't done much posting lately. Sorry. It's just for a lack of anything interesting to say. Current thoughts are about my hair...should I cut it shorter again and should I dye it again, and if so, should I get it back to my natural colour or try to find the old stuff I used to use and use that. So, yeah, nothing much there.

Also finding recently that my tolerance for fried foods is bad right now. The last few times I have had fish n chips I have had gastro issues. I think it is more a grease/oil related issue. A while ago I discovered I could not eat hashbrowns with your regular brand of diner grease brekkie, but maybe it was not the hashbrowns after all. Maybe it was the combined effect of diner grese cooked bacon nd eggs with the diner grease hashbrowns. A few weeks ago I had gastro issues after a pasta dish I made with a sauce based in olive oil, pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, and feta. I thought it might have been cheese overload (I do loves me my feta) but I wonder now if I just made it too oily and that was the problem. I thought maybe I had issues to fairy, but maybe it is the oil content rather than the dairy content that is causing the gastro issues. If I have these grease/oil issues, how can I possibly stay married to Chas the Grease-Eater?

In other health news, I think I am drinking more water and fluids in general, and I am walking more, so I hope that they will have a combined health benefit soon. Hope to do more outside stuff once the weather warms up a little. There is a Tai Chi class (among many others) starting in April at the nearby community center/school...7 classes for $49 if I understand the pricing correctly. And the classes are in the evening so I can get there after work easily. I can grab a light snack and walk there (probably about 20 minutes) or hop a bus (probably about 5 minutes...Google Maps says the drive is about 2 minutes, so with stops on a non-direct route, 5 seems about right). Not bad. I wanted to do this a year ago but I fell on my ankle and felt that it would be bad to use that leg for serious balance or stability. It is not 100% healed but way better than it was last April.

Feeling lovies with the Maple Flavoured Mini Wheats Chas got me the other night.

I need to find something to eat that won't screw with my tummy. Ciao!

Hey I'm sorry for all of the tummy issues you've been having, It's terrible when the stuff you've been loving to eat all these years start giving you so much trouble and then you're just not sure what you can and cannot eat anymore. sigh. yup, believe me I know. I have a tendency to think it's fried food... well, it may depend on your symptoms of course... if you have gall stones the fried foods and the years compounded of that would cause symptoms associated with that, and if it's dairy and the years compounded of cheese and we know your love of that, the allergy to that could be now be becoming more prominent, as dairy issues... and if the latter has gone on undiagnoses/untreated for a long time, one could develop IBS.

But in truth, they don't know for sure the underlying cause of gall stones, speculations perhaps... I never heat fried foods, no meats and all... and well yes, dairy... and in the end, I had both gall stones AND lactose intolerance/IBS[usually the constipation type]

as well as GERDS, too, for which am on meds... so anyway, I feel you as I've been through that gamut and still have so much trouble. Another process of elimination sort of thing... sigh.

Tai Chi sounds sooo exciting. I hope you may get the chance to do it!! Wooohooo!

Excited for your new changes.

[oh i was getting ready to go to the hospital for my stay, the other night when you were calling... sorry.]

Yeah, it could be a couple of things...could be gall stones or IBS or just a new developed intolerance of heavily greasy foods. I plan on investigating more to see if it is with certain foods only or certain amounts.

Excited for potential visits with beautiful friends such as yourself. Keep me informed of potential developments.

Hope your hospital visit went well. Take care.

i found your journal randomly (looking for friends in vancouver, BC), but between a decent amount of commonality/interests, i was surprised to see your schools: i'm a orlando FL transplant to the pacific northwest (my little sister even attended lake orienta when we lived in altamonte). anyway, should you have the time to talk to another "recovering floridian" about beautiful BC, i'd love to dialogue with you!

Hey, thanks for commenting. Wanna know more of small world? My birth mom lived in Beaverton for a handful of years in the late 80's to mid 90's if I recall correctly. :) I have some pretty good memories of Portland and surrounding areas from when I would visit her. It's too bad our stop there on the way here was so short. And rainy. A friend is having their birthday in Portland this yea, so maybe if work lets me, I can take the time to go back. I haven't seen Multnomah Falls or Crown Point in ages, and I would love to visit the coast again. I'd love to show hubby things I remember.

We lived in Maitland, and my mom still lives in Altamonte. :)

When did you move? Where did you live before? Feel free to lj message if you prefer.

We left Orlando last October and were in Portland in November on our way to BC.
