Today is crappy.

I should've known. Last night the heating/air unit breaks and today I woke up with needle piercing pain in my ears, an upset stomach, and a minor headache (from the congestion giving me the ear pain), so I stayed in til my sinuses drained enough and waited for maintanece who never showed (but I have seen them in the area helping other apartments). I went to Chamberlins to get the MiBrain migraine supplement and Thai rice noodle soup (spicy for my sinuses to drain more) for lunch. Finished that, called boss to see if it was too late to go in to work (no), found out I am back to the boss before him. I get in my car and drive to work...only my oil light starts going off again. Yep, the same problem from a week ago. So I got off I-4 at Altamonte and pulled over into a bank parking lot and turned the car off. Gave it a few minutes and the light was off again, but I called the mechanic who said to bring it by. Lucky they were nearby. They checked the oil, and I had plenty, but they did not have time to look at it today. They said it might be my oil pump or it might be wiring. I already paid $200 for an oil pressure sensing switch and pan gasket last weekend. As I make my way to the exit, I notice that there is a lot of traffic, and combined with the rain, I would not get to work until about 4pm, and that would give me 2 full hours of work til my shift ended, and since I have plans for this evening, I would not be able to stay late. So I said fuck it and went home. It wasn't worth the $20 I would make. The heating is still not fixed, but this warm fleece pullover and warm laptop are doing an good job. At least it is not freezing outside or anything. Speaking of weather, WTF? Is the East coast jealous of all the rain from the West coast? I have to say, I don't remember a wetter winter here than this year. On that note, I do much prefer winter rain to summer rain.

On a good note, I did a random google search and found out that they just released Degrassi Junior High on DVD a month ago, due to the success of TNG that is airing now. Amazon has it for those interested. It has the first season on 3 dvds, including Lucy and Voula shoplifting, and Spike realizing she is pregnant (in like 7th or 8th grade!)...two episodes that stuck with me since I saw them on PBS all those years back. I hear the picture quality is crap, but it should be ok. I have seen some bad transfers before.

I think this day calls for hot tea and a bath.
