plunkybugLast night I had an amusing idea. I was watching a program on tv, South Park I think, and the infamous Enzyte commercial with Bob* came on. And so I laughed to myself when I thought of having a midi version of that jingle imported in the new phone, once I get it, and assign that ring to any number Chas might call from. :P
*For those unfamiliar with Bob, or Enzyte, here is the gist. Enzyte is for "male enhancement" and Bob is always seen with a smile on his face in a sort of 50's like setting/style. See Enzyte Bob.
On another cell phone related idea, I think it would be neat if you took public transportation, and you could get text message updates on the route you were taking, or if there was a quick command that you could dial from your phone that would let you check the status of a particular route, etc. That way you'd know whether you missed the connection, or if it was just delayed for whatever reason, and roughly for how long. Maybe you input something to the website and subscribed to a service, whether free or not. Or something. And if you did not have a cell phone, you could get a pager-like device to act in a similar function. I think that would be cool, and save from lots of people calling the transit authority in their area and waiting on hold for 15 minutes only to see that their connection has just arrived.
I got a shirt from Burlington today. There was a display at the front of the store and I looked at it while Chas was waiting in line to check out. It was New York and Company and it was $10! It would easily sold for $25 minimum in their storefront. I am not sure I am keeping it; I did try it over my shirt when I got home which may be why it felt a little tight. I think that I will most likely wear it open with a tank top under it. It was impulse purchasing. I kept the receipt no matter what I decide. I did see a few raincoats I liked, but it is hard to get a raincoat for Florida because it is so freaking hot and humid in the summer. One I saw and liked was $40, red, and lightweight...nothing special, but the lightweight and softness is an important factor. The other one I originally thought was the same price, was actually $50...the advantage to this one is that it is black (and thus would go with just about everything I own), had a detachable hood therfore making the jacket useful in the cooler months when it is dry, and was form-fitting in the waist area...it looked nice and sophisticated and clean even in my jeans. The problem was the shell; it was thicker and thus heavier than the red one, and I would probably DIE in it from too much heat in the summer, not to mention I don't know how it would hold up to one of our downpours here. But realistically, I would probably only put it on for a few minutes to cross a parking lot or something. Still, this is one of those things I wish I could "frankenstein" and keep the style and fit of the black one, and the soft, lightweight, presumably breathable material from the red one and make a whole new jacket.
Think I might go have a lie down. I did not get much sleep last night.
