Saw a good play last night called "Auntie and Me" (aka Vigil). It was from the Orlando Theater Project, at SCC. Good thing I was already in the area from being at work. Anyhow, another play I think [livejournal.com profile] realitystylist would like, and one that he has a good chance of seeing, as it was originally created and performed in Vancouver and Victoria, BC. Played Canada all over, hopped the pond to the UK, and back to the US now.

I will see if Chas is reviewing it. That's why we are seeing so many plays lately. Any word on the person who might need a room? Also agonizing over BH not responding. I want to talk offline about them, you know, arm myself with knowledge an all that for when they respond.

An eccentric bachelor with a comically miserable life is summoned to the deathbed of an aunt he hasnt seen in 30 years. But she drives him to distraction by refusing to do the decent thing and die. An extraordinary discovery of a play that is both outrageous and poignant.

Brilliantly uses comedy to expose the pain and loneliness of the unloved. It is funny, tender and quite tough.
The Guardian (London)

The play had lot of great dialogue, well, it was mostly monoloque in vignette style, snapshots even, to help indiate that the plays occurs over a year plus span.
