The weekend is slowly coming to an end. But here's what has happened so far:
I left work Friday, went to the grocery store to pick up some food to bring over. An old friend of mine was at Kristen's place when I got there. I made hummus and garlic rosemary focaccia, and Steve grilled some chicken. It were yummy...
After that, we went downtown, and I met some of Kristen's lj friends, including
vogelscheuche,
suspended_dusk, and
koffeegirl among others. The photo booth at BBQ Bar was broken, so we were mad. It was kinda quiet, and I nursed a Pineapple with Amaretto all night. Really. I just don't drink much. You're just not likely to see naked pics of me from wild, drunken nights posted here. Sorry if you're disappointed out there. ; ) While we were near the dance floor at Independent Bar, this guy started hitting on us. He first talked to Kristen and asked her name, and without missing a beat, she gave him her middle name. When he asked me, I followed suit. He asked our ages and he asked Kristen if she dated younger men after she told him her age, to which she said something vaugue. When the question got to me, I held up my left hand, proudly displayed my wedding ring, and then we took off. Ha ha ha!!! We laughed at some of the sluts that were walking around outside. They're called clothes people...WEAR THEM!!! We came home and played on the computer a little and went to bed. I had a headache and was sleepy. Staying up late is not normal for me anymore.
We kinda slept in late, and Steve brought us some bagels and cream cheese. Yummy! We went out looking for garage sales and stopped by my parents briefly. We went to a cd store and I picked up a few cds...Roxy Music's debut and Just Say Yesterday, and then came home to get the kids ready for a birthday party for the night, and after we dropped them off, we headed to Viet Garden for some Garden Rolls. We came back to the house for a nap and shortly after that I started making Happiness Soup and also Chocolate and Butterscotch Fudge. We got ready for downtown and headed to Stardust for some chai before going downtown for more people watching. As we were leaving the parking garage, a bum asked us for some change, since you pay for the parking at these machines there, and people have money. So we passed him to go to the other level to pay, since there is usually no line. He asked us for change, and Kristen started speaking random things in German. I think at one point she said something like "Sprechen sie deutsche?" and he said something like, "You're just trying to manipulate me with your education, " or something to that effect. It was hilarious and we were trying SO hard not to laugh. He saw us turn the corner to use the other machine and he followed us and tried to talk to us more. We said nothing, and so I started saying a few things in pig latin so we could get out of there asap. Still did not dance, but there were a lot more people there last night, and I met more lj people. I nursed a B-52 the whole night too. It was mucho strong, so I let the hot, humid air melt the ice in the drink to dilute it. We stayed out much later last night than Friday night. We stayed until they closed up, but before that, we sat at the window in front, and every once in a while, a bunch of guys would come up to the window to flirt. At one point, when I was by myself, 5 guys came to the window and waved. And on the way home, someone in a car next to us at a light asked us to roll down the window to talk or say something. The girl in the car asked Kristen her name and she spontaneously said, Jean. Oh my...
We left, got home around 3:30, bummed around on the computer some more, had more Happiness Soup, and eventually crashed. Slept in a bit today. We decided to rent an Eddie Izzard video, so we went back to Stardust. We also had more chai, and some hummus. I love hummus! On the way back, we stopped at the Kraft Azalea Gardens for a photo opportunity with the digital camera. Kristen and I came up with the captions kinda on a whim...was it the chai and hummus talking? : p
