4 December 2003 10:50I got my work schedule for next week, and let me say that I am not happy. I have been here close to 7 years, whereas the average agent here has half as much time (or less) as I do, so let me say that I have a lot of seniority. If I don't have the highest seniority here, then I am close to the top. So I don't like it when my schedule gets pushed around like I am new here or whatever. I consistently get 8:30-5:30 with the very occasional 9:00-6:00 shift. On those rare occasions, I usually still wake up at the same time to keep my body clock fairly regular. But next week's schedule is totally unacceptable. Monday and Friday I work 9:00-6:00, Tuesday is 10:00-7:00, and Wednesday and Thursday are my normal 8:30-5:30. I guess I could expect to be pushed around like this if I were new, but I am not. Maybe I am just bitching because I don't like having to change my alarm clock on a daily basis. Having a consistent schedule means I have one less thing to worry or think about. If it was an afternoon job with different start times, I don't suppose that would be as bad, since I wouldn't be getting up at different times. But honestly, I think some things, like getting up at the same time each day, are healthier for you, than if your body has to constantly shift and overcompensate. I'm just not happy. I want my "normal" shift back. I hope this weird schedule does not last.
