Yesterday was a casual day. I went to visit my sister in law at work, a local salon where she does nails. I went to visit so one of the stylists could give me info on my hair and how to go about dying it this time. But I got there just as the beauty supply store a few doors down from them closed. So I took the information and Chas and I went in search of food before visiting my grandad. We stopped at Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ. I had a kids meal and it was almost perfect for me. I'd have liked to see them add a wing to the basket for just a little more meat. The leg with the garlicky texas toast and fries was slightly puny; the wing would have made it more balanced. Afterward, we carried on and visited my grandad. We had a fairly long conversation with him, compared to the normal visits. We ran a few errands, including a trip to a different beauty supply store to get some dye, and came home for a few hours. I dyed my hair during that time, and a little while later we went to my parent's place.

We had such a nice time with my parents last night, though we got off to a late start. A little miscommunication of when to go over, but nothing major. We went over for dinner which was spanikopita (spinach pie), and as I suspected, my mom did not make it herself. In fact, it was from Coscto. But that was fine, because it was still tasty, even if it could have had more feta in it in my opinion. And maybe a few crunchy pine nuts too. Mmmm. I am making myself hungry all over again just thinking about it.

After dinner and dessert, and struggling with technology, we watched a dvd we had brought with us. I remember Chas said, as we we getting ready to leave, that he wished the dvds he had ordered had arrived so we could bring them with us. Then he remembered he had not yet gotten the mail from the day, so he went out and checked it, and as fate would have it, there was the amazon.com box with the 2 dvds (Spellbound and Winged Migration). We knew Winged Migration would put my dad to sleep, but we brought it anyway and let them choose what to watch. They picked Spellbound as we suspected they would, and they loved it. And yeah, my dad did fall asleep, but only for a few minutes near the end, I think. Who would have thought a film about the National Spelling Bee would be so engaging? But it was! My dad wanted to see just a little of Winged Migration, just to get the feel for it, so we watched about 15 minutes or so of that. Then we left.

As for today, I was supposed to go out with [livejournal.com profile] glittergrrl69 shopping this morning (before getting together with [livejournal.com profile] groan), but plans had to change and we aren't going. I guess that is for the best anyhow, because I am so full from brekkie! :) I made scrambled eggs with the last bit of smoked salmon we had and some crumpets. Way too much for my lil tummy, but oh so tasty and yummy!

I think I am going to go back to bed for a little bit and snuggle up with my huggy bear until Viv calls or whatever. Yeah, that's what I will do. :)
