So, I was reading a friend's blog recently, and in a post from 25 March, he talks about the music group The Motors from the late 70's. Ah yes, The Motors. This sort of sparked a memory. Now, I don't know much about the band, their history, or their discography, but I do know that I liked what I heard Chas playing on his show, Chas'Crusty Old Wave, back in the day on the local college station here, WPRK. I remember Diane, a friend of his and also another dj with the station, would periodically pop in and join us for the show. She always wanted to hear him to play The Motors, and it was no twist of the arm to get him to pull out the ol' vinyl. He'd often make a crack to the young kids (those punk kids) out there like me. Hearing the hearing the snap, crackle and pop sounds of the vinyl spinning away on the turntable just put Chas into such bliss. Anyhow, I've lost my train of thought. Oh yes, anyhow, I was reminded of a group that I liked and thought to myself that I need to hear more of this group. I get the same feeling listening to songs from this band (like 'Airport') that I do when I listen to tracks from "The Age of Plastic" by The Buggles. It is almost the same feeling I get once sufficiently stuffed with yummy sushi. Especially from Fuji. *drools* Getting off topic again. Oh, well, I guess that is all I really wanted to write.

Was I crazy?
29 March 2004 21:41I don't know why I thought of this again. It was weird. Yesterday I was out with
shyystarr for a few hours. We started out by going to Starbucks on Park Avenue so missy could wake up with a grande mocha frappuccino. Being that I am avoiding dairy until I get better, I passed, but a good chai or caramel anything would have been tasty! So here is where I wonder if I was really crazy or not. We'd just left the Starbucks and we paused outside. It was then that I heard really faint music. i did not know where it was coming from, but I listened closer and I determined not only the artist, but the song too. It was 'The Carnival Is Over' by Dead Can Dance (one of my favorite songs from them), but she heard nothing, and then it was gone for me. The only thing I can think of is someone had it on in their car while they were stopped at the light, and then it went away as they drove on. But it was so incredibly odd to hear that slow song outside on a sunny day in a fairly preppy and rich part of town. Have I lost it? Was I just imagining it? I don't know. Ack.

For dinner tonight, I made a 2 1/2 pound london broil and some roasted potatoes. Nothing too fancy, but I did a really good job, and I am proud of myself. :)
