Had a good long weekend. Very tired, and not feeling particularly well at the moment, so more to come later.

Friday-

Aside from working, not much happened outside of giving Chas much grief about the time and the lack of food in our stomachs. See, I had to be up at 5am the next day for work, so I had to eat dinner earlier so I could go to bed earlier, and in turn get up earlier. But the time kept passing, and every minute kept dragging me into the night further and further. And I increasingly got more irritated. More than I really should have, but that is me. So...

Saturday-

Got up butt fuck early to go to work. Because of the events to occur later in the day, I had little choice but to go in before the sun rose. Yeah, I hate being up before the sun. the drive to work was pretty quiet though. I had made a little instant cappuccino at home and drank part of it at home, and the rest on the way and at work. That was a first. I don't like having to feel like I have to drink coffee to get going each day. I like drinking coffee as a casual or social thing, as opposed to an addictive thing. Work was monumentally slow until about 8am. I took my first call at 7:30...so I had an hour and a half to do nothing, and I could not use the internet. But there were some cool people to talk to and they got me laughing. Left later than I was scheduled due to a snafu, but I got home close to 4, and about a half hour later we were on our way west to Tampa. Why you ask? Because it was my brother's birthday celebration, though his birthday was on Monday the 2nd. I think I have mentioned this before. So, through traffic and rain, we got to his place and we hung out til the rain let up. We called the dogtrack to see if they'd be holding races, since that was the main part of the celebration. It is not called the "annual dog track trek" for nothin'. For the second time, Chas and I have engaged in the placing of money on dogs to win more money. It is not the sort of thing we do all the time, but once a year for this celebation. And with friends and family it is fun. Last year we came out ahead a few dollars at the end of the evening, but this year we were down a dollar or so. We were ahead for a while. Chas was pretty good at guessing, but he also placed safe bets. Still, at the end of it all, a night's entertainment for a few bucks? Not bad at all. Once again I was surprised by the diversity of the people there, and stunned at the number of kids running around. I made friends with one of his friends and even exchanged cell numbers to keep in touch. I was on my first Red Bull, so I was still going strong and we went to a bar downtown. About 1am I was getting tired, though the smoke was irritating my eyes. Oh to be in a bar in California! :p

Sunday-

We got up and had a lovely brunch at a place nearby called Mad Dogs adn Englishmen. I had smoked salmon spread on crackers and it was yummy. :) Headed over to the
