I wanted to do this as a poll, but for some reason the posting options aren't showing in my browser and I don't feel like searching the FAQs for the link. So...

I have been thinking of changing my journal recently...the title, icon, colors, scheme...everything, for the new year. My paid account expires soon, so I *could* do it and not lose that money. What do you think, my loverly friends? Yes or no? Why or why not?

So, here I am, watching The Alternative on VH-1, and they just played Tori Amos' "Crucify" from Little Earthquakes. I think, that after all these years, I need to get that. (Chas'll probably get out the divorce papers with me saying this.) Maybe with iTunes of GEMM...it doesn't have to be brand new. I still have, *somewhere*, a tape that Melanie made for me in high school. It had Little Earthquakes one side A and on side B had her version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and then the soundtrack for a play they were doing that year. It was my first time hearing Peter Murphy solo stuff, and introduced me to probably my all time favorite Beatles song. Anyhow, I never stopped liking the songs from Little Earthquakes, but as I expanded my music tastes (and met Chas and his mightily impressive collection), I never really pursued her stuff much further. I never became a devoted fan or anything, and was not affected the same way with stuff afterward. But I do think this is one of those cds that slipped through the cracks of my collection. I remember, my senior year in high school, it seemed like all the Winterguard groups were doing songs from this cd. It was like a visual representation of the songs with dance, flags, and sabres. It is an immediate association...connection when I hear those songs. I miss Winterguard and Colorguard too. But Winterguard had the nice thing about being only guard, and no band. It was indoors (because it was winter and there was no outdoor marching, no football games), choreographed to pre-recordeded music, and much more expressive. I wish I had the tapes from the shows that year. I am rambling. I don't think I have made that much sense in this post, but I guess kinda more free-from and stream of consciousness sorta thing. So that's good I guess.
