Memories of long ago.
15 July 2007 22:52Last weekend I took
warzau_kitten out for her birthday...it was actually Friday July 6th, but I worked, so I rented a car for the next day and took out. On one of our stops, we went to a nearby health food store looking for something, and although they did not have it, they had something else I wanted. Perfume oil. Sandalwood perfume oil. I love sandalwood! I have for maany years actually. I ended up getting a smaller but somehow more expensive vial of a blend of sandalwood with amber. It is a blend I have always liked, and a few times I have gotten some bath products with either sandalwood or amber or both in them.
Anyhow, I was wearing some later that weekend, and thinking, "Wow, this scent is just so Plunky" without trying to sound arrogant or anything, but sometimes things are just so right for your personality, and this was one of them. This is warm and sweet and musky and a little bohemian. And me.
It wasn't til later on in the week, when I was wearing it, when I realized why it seemed so "me". It was because it was familiar, and I mean that in the sense of the word "family" when I say that. Because I was thinking of my grandma, and how she smelled. She wore Shalimar. And I"ll bet you that this blend smells an awful lot like Shalimar does.
I miss my grandma a lot. I have come to realize that some of the things I like are from her. But that is good. :)
