New year, new friends.

I think I am about ready for another friends list purge, but this time I want to trim down my communities as well. As for friends, typically cutting will occur based on the amount of mutual contact between me and you (the reader/user). There are exceptions to this that will be considered as well such as you read me but rarely comment, etc. Comment that you want to stay, though some of you won't have to, as I either know you in real life or we regularly communicate already.

I won't be purging til the 1st, or thereabouts, so you all have time to chime in.

Oh, I have also been toying around with names again, but I haven't settled on anything yet. Maybe I will think about it more and do a pole in the new year as well.

I know, and typically (but not all) the people I know irl stayed. There were only a few, and it was their actions, or lack of, that I dropped them. The issues went deep enough to cut them. But I wouldn't cut you...you're part of "the family" so I have no reason to cut you. :)

I found your livejournal from the Victoria Community. You mentioned that you've emmigrated from the U.S. recently. I was wondering which route you took in order to be able to live and work in the country, and how long did it take?

I was born in Montreal, so that helped me. :P Working on the husband, and not sure what steps are next for him honestly. He has a 6 month visitor visa and is unable to work unless it is a NAFTA job or someone here hires him to do a job that they couldn't find a Canadian to fill. At least that is what we think so far. Going to be consulting with an immigration lawyer soon. We don't know how long it will take for him, but I gander the better part of a year, maybe more??

Oh, okay. You would have Canadian citizenship, so wouldn't your husband get some sort of advantage because of that? I'm sort dealing with a similar problem, as my boyfriend is British, and we're trying to find a way for him to live here permanently. Hopefully it doesn't take too long for you to get things sorted out.

Uh, yeah, it has it's advantages sure. It means I can work even if he can't and I can sponsor him. We'd have had to get the paperwork and checks and such all done before we came here if neither of us were from Canada. Being from Britain, your bf may have some advantages over my husband.
