I want to have a really hot shower and let the water beat on my aching neck and shoulders. My sinuses would probably feel much better too. The odd thing is that I want to wash my hair again, even though I don't have to. I washed it last night and I can usually go 3-4 days without washing it and I will be ok. I guess that is a bonus of having dry and damaged hair. Anyhow, I think the real reason I want to wash my hair is to smell my new shampoo and conditioner...they have very uplifting essential oils in them and I think I need an herbal pick me up now. I think my nose wants to try to smell them. I think my nose wants to smell ANYTHING right about now.

Speaking of senses, my dinner came out fabulously.

I drained 1 can of artichoke hearts (mine were whole but I quartered them)--marinated them in about 3 TBS each of red wine rice vinegar and olive oil, a couple good shakes of various greek seasonings, and several grinds of salt and pepper. Oh, and a good spritzing with both lemon pam and garlic pam before adding the marinade.

Meat from one cooked chicken breast, in small chunks or pieces. Similar treatment like the artichokes, but actually used some salad dressing I made and had stored in the fridge. Because it had olive oil which had congealed, it was kinda gloopy until it turned room temperature.

Marinated them in the fridge for as long as I could. Was a couple hours here cuz I had the time, but would probably be ok if less time was available...like 30 minutes would be long enough probably. If you had already marinated artichokes then less time, much faster preparation. I just didn't have any so I improvised with what I did have.

When I was ready to cook, I heated the oven to 400*F and drained the marinades from the foods. Stuck the artichokes in for about 25 minutes or so, adding the chicken in a few minutes before, just to heat through and get some color.

The next part is the corny part. I added the mixture to a prepared mixture of Pasta Roni Angel Hair with Parmesan and Herbs. Because I am trying to watch my dairy intake while my sinuses are screwed up, I made the pasta with soy milk instead of cows milk. I don't think you could taste the difference, though with my sense of smell being off, my sense of taste probably was too.

It came out good. Other ways of making this with more convenience and less work? Like I said, you can use already marinated artichoke hearts. For the chicken, you could either buy a precooked chicken breast (or use part of a rotisserie chicken from the store) and do what I did, using the bottled marinade OR buy one boneless/skinless breast and marinade in the bottles juices, but cook it with the artichokes (separate dish or not is your call) or you could also saute the pieces on the stove top instead of roasting which would also save time. I just felt like roasting instead.

UPDATE: I did have my hot shower, but I stuck my hair up in a bun and shower cap and decided to use some of Chas' Tea Tree Oil Shampoo as a body wash. Reason? Tea Tree oil is minty feeling and smelling, and it is a good overall cleanser. It sudsed up so why not? I have seen shampoo/body wash combos before. They are great for traveling actually. Anyhow. So I accomplished all I wanted without having to wash my hair. I mean, it is already clean, so why wash it again just for the sake of washing it to smell the shampoo and conditioner? I also realized I have some minty oil mixture which can be used as a massage oil or sports rub. Now I just hafta wait for my huggy bear to return home so he can massage some into my neck and shoulders. That's using my noggin!! :)
