I really hope my new check card comes today. I have found out how dependent I really am on it. All I have is checks right now, and not all places take them, like the store and cafeteria at my workplace. I can't even go to an ATM to get cash at this point. Grr.

Crikey it is slow today. They reduced hours to kill the overnight shift a few weeks back (though I just found out now). So now we are closed from midnight to 6am. Doesn't affect me though. I would love to go hoke early, but I need to save my paid time off for later this summer anyway.

New Bank Cards

I bank with Bank of America. They can be morons sometimes. A WHILE back I went in to have my pic taken for the "more secure" cards they were offering. Like anyone would look at the card long enough to see that the pic on it doesn't match the person using it. So a few weeks pass and they send me a new card JUST like the one I have with a note that they lost my picture and I'll have to come in for a new one. That was tremendously annoying. More weeks pass and I get in the mail ANOTHER new card, this one WITH THE PICTURE ON IT. WTF?!

WaMu and check cards- don't get me started...at one point, they had three in my name, so I took them to a branch to ask which one I was supposed to use and they said that all three were cancelled and that I would have to wait for a new one.

This was at Christmas, too, and I was doing more-than-average amounts of shopping, having to write checks everywhere with large lines behind me. Then I would feel compelled to explain that I am not just behind the times and that my bank did this to me.

Sigh...it sucked and I can TOTALLY empathize. They said that they put a rush on it, but it still took a week to get the card. I was pretty pissed.

Thing is, I am looking at switching to someone else, and I will still have to wait. But I will make sure my accounts overlap for a short time I think.
