Yesterday Chas and I spent spent practically every waking moment together and we had such a great day! We started out by getting up early-ish and going to his credit union to look into me getting an account. We did everything in time and headed over to OSC (the Orlando Science Center), which was a few minutes away from the credit union, for Chas' FLMUG (Florida Macintosh User Group) Bored Meeting, but first, we stopped at RD&S (Renew, Donate, & Support) also in the science center to help the guys out. I have no technical skill so I couldn't really help out fixing the old machines, but I watched a guy change a battery on one of the machines. After that, most of the guys up there were board members so they all left to go with Chas to find meeting space. I joined them, having my bag o' amusements to keep me occupied! Despite the fact I had my Game Boy, and was deep in Tetris concentration, I was able to hear what was being said and was able to offer a few suggestions which everyone liked. Well, they all like me anyways because I'm a cute, sweet, young girl! I'm the first lady of the club since Chas is now acting president. After the meeting got out, Chas and I went to check out an event we were interested in, but realized it was still a week away, but at the same time we saw the schedule for the CineDome (IMAX theater) and it was the last day for the "Ring of Fire" showing and I wanted to see it...volcanos intrigue me. So Chas bought the tickets and we inquired about coming back later to go to the observatory. The guy gave us free armbands to use when we came back later the observatory between 6-9pm! The CineDome show was about 45 minutes later, so we ate lunch and then went to the show. That theater was 8 stories high!

After leaving OSC, we headed over to [livejournal.com profile] maggie226's place, since it was also nearby, to pick up my Pampered Chef orders from my show at the end of May. Got them in my car and chatted a bit, but had to run to visit a friend of ours downtown who is semi-hospitalized in a convalescent type building, like my grandad. This guy is a member of the mac user group too, but is suffering hip problems and emphysema. We all miss him, and his homemade bread and fruit preserves. He was out of breath, and in need of a shave, but otherwise coherent and happy to see us.We spent a little time there, but had to get to Altamonte for a few things and left.

Got to Altamonte and visited my mom to give her her Pampered Chef order. She was so happy! I even showed her how to use the measure all cup. She just thought it was a regular measuring cup that was pink for the breast cancer awareness fund-raiser. I showed her how to flip the cup to use for dry ingredients, or as a plunger for those ingredients like peanut butter and sour cream that are neither liquid nor dry. Left there pretty fast to get a little further up the road to the salon my sister in law works at before they closed for the day, as she had picked up a specialty item from the beauty supply store next to them since they sell only to professionals. Went into the Circuit City to look at car stereo equipment for Chas' car, which currently has a radio with a non-working tape player and only one working front speaker.

Finally went home for a few hours to relax and let Chas do some work. I opened *my* Pampered Chef order, cleaned up a little, and watched some Queer Eye. About 7:45 he stopped working and we went back over to OSC to visit the observatory. It was still light out, and the cloud coverage was a potential problem. When we first got up there, there was one telescope outside pointed at an osprey nest that had settled on the top of a lamp post on top of the parking garage opposite us. We saw the momma and the babies. Then we went up this steep spiral staircase to the quarter million dollar scope to look at the sun through a special filter. I got to see a sun spot! There was a video recording of the Venus pass through of the sun that we watched for a bit. It was still light out, though the sun was rapidly fading and the clouds still concerning the workers. But, to their credit, the found Jupiter and Saturn through the clouds. I couldn't see the moons of Jupiter, but I did see the rings on Saturn. It was all so cool! I think this is the first time I had seen them, or anything through really powerful telescopes.

We left there just before 9pm and tried to decide where to eat, and then we both came to the same conclusion...'Za Bistro! This place is not too far from us, and is in the building that used to be a place called The Loop. We passed by recently and realized a lot of cars were there and that they must be popular, and thus good. We had no idea of what to expect, especially with the pretenses of the previous restaurant. We got there and it was really nice. It was elegant with a jazz trio playing and the dark, warm colors of the interior were welcoming. The fire oven in the back by the kitchen was also intriguing. Not what I had expected at all. With a name like that, occupying the same space as The Loop, I was expecting a more Panera Bread style restaurant. But there was a host who took us to our table and gave us menus. It was mostly soups, salads, and hot sandwiches, but also pizzas. Everything hot is cooked in the fire according to our server. Chas and I chose the lunch for two which included one pizza, two salads, and a drink for $14.99, and he also had a cup of soup...jumbalya. My raspberry hibiscus herbal iced tea was almost of light wine quality since it was red adn slightly tart with it also being slightly sweet. Our salads were ceasar, your basic kind though still tasty, and our pizza was called "Upper East Side" though I don't know why. It had smoked salmon and asparagus, dill (though I didn't notice any), capers, and sour cream. A pretty odd combination for pizza, I know, but we figured we could get pepperoni and sausage anywhere. The pizza was really good though! We were glad we chose it. For desert we shared an order a chocolate creme brulee and fresh strawberries and cream. They were both tasty too, and the nice thing is that they were small portions so we did not have to pass up desert because we were full, or getting there. Our meal cost about $35 (with the tip) so it was not badly priced at all, for what we ate, and everything else like the atmosphere which included the free live jazz. It was odd, because it was an elegant restaurant with a mostly casual menu...though they did have things like Beef Bourginion (sp?), lamb shanks, and fresh seafood along with 40 bottles of wine by the glass and fancy desserts. It was a nice place and I thing we might be back in the future.

We got home and pretty much collapsed into bed and fell asleep in each others arm and it ended happily ever after!
