We went to Seth and Karen's place to celebrate Mother's Day with the family. We had yummy treats and watched the recent version of Ocean's Eleven. It was hard to watch it, because something Chas told me long ago was so true in this film. I could not see the actors as the characters that they were playing. For example, Julia Roberts was Julia Roberts, not Tess, and the same could be said for George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. They're just too recognizable. And the story is just your basic big time robbery...allbeit very cleverly thought out. What was so special about this film? All the big name actors? The effects? The plot? It's history and the fact that it was a remake of a classic "rat pack" film? I don't now, but I do know I recognized Debussy's Clair de Lune near the end...that was pretty. In fact, I was inspired by that scene so I decided to put on a Debussy cd when I got home and just relax to it while I cooled off from the heat outside. Eventually I fell asleep for a good many hours, and during that time I had a scary dream about spiders (poisonous?)...lots of them...everywhere. Maybe that was a nod to Kris and her spider incident...we did spend some time together yesterday. But because I slept much of the afternoon, I got dinner started later than I had anticipated, but good thing too, because as soon as I started getting the stuff ready to make, the power flickered off, then on, then off and on again a little more and then finally stayed off. Upon calling the power company, we were told it was an outage that was affecting 800 people and that it would take 2-3 hours to fix...so we went to Fuji Sushi for dinner. We love that place! Sorry we did not call and invite you, Heidi, but due to the time and our stomachs' growing hunger, we went straight away. We did see "your woman" though, and said "hi" to her for you. Ahh! The feeling of post-sushi is almost a spiritual one.

No worries, chickie. Was at mom's from 4 to 7ish and at FishBones from 7ish until 10:30 last night. Yesterday was a full one, no time to hang. Glad your mom's day was a good one!

We have to get groceries tonight, and one night this week Chas has to see a client. I am also going to see about getting my air fixed one night this week if anyone has later hours. I really don't know what the best day would be.

As for food, I can do: Asian Flank steak stir fry, Greek meatballs and potatoes, or California Pizza Kitchen's Chicken Tequilla Fettuccine pretty well, and with minimum extra ingredients. I can do others as well, but these 3 came to the top of my head. Prolly $10-15 or less in ingredients for any of them. What do ya think?

I'll check with Chas later and also see what ingredients for them that I already have. We'll talk more later.
