I just got a crapload of free samples of Umka Cold Care, Sambucol (both for immune systems) and Alive! mega nutrient multi-vitamins (this stuff has everything in it you need except probiotics!) from the woman at the table on behalf of Nature's Way tonight when I went to Chamberlins to pick up an Immuno-Shield, another immune system booster (which also has a load of good stuff in it too!). Let's hope I am able to avoid the doctor and and more antibiotics this year with some of this stuff. I will give it a few days to see if I begin to feel better, and if not, I will make a doctor appointment.

Woot! Someone who does it right! Okay my way... but same difference hehe.

No I'm so tired of hearing how much Doctors suck and the medical field is a much of quaks and so on. They do good work and they help people. Now I will be the first to tell you I try natural first, I try fixing my diet, taking vitamiens, and so on, but Darn it if your sick sometimes you need pharmasuticals that have been inginered to make you better.

One thing that has sorta been nagging at me... people talk about "natural" but then they talk about taking extracts and someother stuff from natural things like the foaming agent SLS is found in coconut, so they say it is from a natural source. But that is exactly what pharmasuticals or chemical comapnies do to create the synthetics... they have to get the stuff from nature at some point... they can't just pull it out of the air. I dunno... thats why I like organic better then "natural" I think to much slips by "natural"

While I like and use natural herbs and such, what really bugs me about using them is that you always hear that there are no side affects because it is natural, but that's not true. St John's Wort has properies that can mimic antibiotics which can interfere with hormonal birth control and the effectiveness. Licorice and Ginko (I believe) can affect someone on blood pressure medication. So it is not perfect. But I would rather start with something grown in nature, than something genetically engineered beyond recognition.
