18 December 2004 00:13How can they do this? Park Avenue Cds gets its name from being on Park Avenue. The UCF and Clearwater stores are extensions of this original location...on Park Avenue. And they are moving to Corrine Drive next year. That's not Park Avenue. :(
Sure, Park Ave can be pricey. That's why the keep losing businesses. I am scared what the area will be like in a year. Park Avenue Cds belongs on Park Avenue. They've been there longer than most of the businesses there.
I am sad even if there is some logic to the move. If you aren't on Park Avenue, and your main store isn't there, how can you continue to be called Park Avenue Cds?
Speaking about music, we just got back from the Enzian. They have a 5 night showing of "End of the Century: A Story About The Ramones" and tonight was the first night. The crowd was frighteningly small, but hopefully it will pick up over the weekend. Lemony Snicket this weekend. Anyone care to join us? Call or comment.
Ah well. I should go.

Date: 19 Dec 2004 06:01 (UTC)Brian wanted me to ask you if you were interested in some kind of music sharing. He is so excited about your taste in music, that he was wondering if you two could trade burned CD's or something. He recently hooked this tape player to his computer to transfer all his old tapes to CD as well. I think we may be going to the show at the Enzian if we can find a sitter.

Date: 20 Dec 2004 15:09 (UTC)I have to do a wee happy dance for that. I know that it's not the same. But d.i.y. records was the same way...we thought it wouldn't be the same when it moved, but we were part of some local music history and that was pretty cool.
I think I have to wait til the movie (End of the Century, not Lemony Snicket) comes out on DVD. I tried last night but could not make it in time. And tonight I have a party and my Christmas with Kirk before he leaves town and tomorrow, well, I have my show. Doesn't look like I will get to see that on the big screen.
