Friday night, Chas and I got together with Kristen and the kids (minus Haley), her friend Steve, and another friend, Jaime, and her son, Liam. We all went to Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. Its a place where they cook the meal in front of you on your table. It is really neat and entertaining. I had some super delicious salmon with veggies, pasta, and fried rice. Cameron and Mackenna were fairly well behaved, though Cameron was a grumpy puss at the beginning, and Kenna started getting hyper near the end. Liam was well behaved as long as he had his passifier in his mouth. I was quite impressed that the kids were using chopsticks for their meals. The restaurant offered two types: the regular two-stick kind and the two-stick kind with a folded up piece of paper between them with a rubber band around them to make it easier (aka the kids style/ starter style) and it was this latter style which the kids were using. Cameron used his chopsticks very well. He'll be using regular chopsticks like a pro soon! ; ) After dinner, Jaime dropped Liam off at home with her other son and hubby, and then we all met back at Kristen's house to put the kids to bed and watch a terrible horror movie called Subspecies. Let me say that we specifically picked it for it's "B movie" quality. I can't believe they made 5 of these movies! After that, Chas and I decided it was time to leave and we came home and went to bed. Well, *I* went to bed.

Yesterday, we got up and went to have lunch with Chas's dad at a nearby TooJay's Deli. I had some yummy hummus and pita and Chas had a yummy cormed beef sandwich on challah. From there we went to a few nearby electronics stores to look far a new tv for his dad. He had already picked out a few and wanted our opinion. Once it was selected, we followed him home and I watched Chas do all the work. Actually, I helped a little, but there wasn't much that little me could do to help with moving a 32" tv. I mostly just chilled. After we finished, Chas and I stopped back at the same shopping center so I could get my hair trimmed and he went into Linens and Things to look for a sleep mask...he has been looking for one for quite some time now, since he sleeps during the day alot. He was in luck and found one and it was not that expensive either. From there, we just went home and we relaxed a little. There wasn't much to do, and it began to pour outside, minutes later. Chas was at the computer for a while and I watched a little tv, but when there was nothing on, I flipped to the new wave music channel and began looking through my catalogs: Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Williams-Sonoma, Professional Cutlery Direct, Birkenstock, and Naot. I've seen these many many times before, but it was something I wanted to do anyways. I lit a candle and had some tea and felt good. Later, I did a few dishes to clean up and somehow managed to slice my finger on a loose piece of steel wool. Ouchie! Afterwards, I went to wake Chas up so I could start dinner, but I ended up spending quality time with him for a while. I love it when he holds me and kisses my head. Dinner eventually and then we tried watching the MST3K we taped that morning. It was one of the last season episodes where some of the original members left, and some of the voices were done by someone else. A little disturbing, but still a funny performance in all. The story was called "Track of the Moon Beast" and as usual, I fell asleep before it finished, though it was mostly due to the antihistamine I had taken for my allergies. Mallet to the head for me, that stuff is.

So here it is, the morning after the night before. I am eating some oatmeal...yummy. Chas is still sleeping so I am making use of my time at the computer. Plans for the day include visiting my grandad, and going to the store for things. Maybe some laundry if the weather is ok today.

Guess I ought to go and check on my huggy bear now.

We went to Border's tonight to use a 20% discount coupon that expires tomorrow. Chas bought the MST3K version of Red Zone Cuba, and I finally bought "The Long Goodbye" by The Essex Green. For those new to me, or who need refresher... I've been wanting this for a long time. Fans of bands like Belle and Sebastian, Mazzy Star, Jellyfish, and the 60's bands they take influence of (Mamas and the Papas, The Kinks) will like this. Here's the review from Amazon... )

Well, I am getting sleepy and it will soon be time for beddy-bye! I must get my beauty rest. Maybe I can get Chas to read to me a little tonight (fingers crossed) ; )
