For starters, the weather dropped quite a bit Friday night, so I woke up freezing yesterday morning. I had to close the windows which had been open with the nicer weather before. Like I expected, I was attached to the computer for the better part of the day. I had a visitor in the early afternoon though, then made plans to leave the house and meet up with [livejournal.com profile] glittergrrl69 for a while. That was really great! We had not had any girl time lately. We first went to Barnes and Noble in search of a Consumer Reports guide to cell phones, cuz she need to get a new one. With no luck there, after waiting a while, we walked across the plaza to the Cingular store for her to look at the possible phones in person, but upon entering the store, we both knew it wasn't gonna happen. There was one sales clerk, and little display of phones to look at. She was thinking about changing her plan, but the guy made no attempt to recognize us, so we walked out, and headed to the Old Navy in a different part of the plaza. Despite the cold, the walking was wonderful. As I had expected, they did not have the right size and style, but I tried on a couple to get an idea of what I needed. The girls 16 jean was good in the waist, but way long...the flared legs had to be rolled and they looked a little silly like that. They had a 2 short in a different style of jean and a 4 long (just for the waist) in the ones I came to look at originally. The 2 was definitely too small, and the 4 long seemed to fit better at the waist but looked a bit funny in the back pocket area. I think that this was because this jean was proportioned long for taller people, and that the 4 short would be better proportioned. If they had a 3 short, that would be best, but they don't. So I guess I will have to see if any other stores have a 4 short, and if not order online. The worst thing that would happen is that I would return them. On the way back to the car, we made a quick stop into Linens n Things, so I could show her some pots I was interested in, but am not totally sure about getting. I have decided to wait and see how much lower amazon prices them...they have already dropped a few dollars each. Actually, I added them and the Old Navy stuff to my amazon wishlist, so maybe I'll get them for the holidays. After that, even though it was early, we were hungry, so we headed to Polania, a Polish restaurant near her apartment. I had been there with Chas when they had just opened and thought she'd like it...and she did! Good food at good prices. She said in her entry, she sat across from a dark haired lovely. Ah, I feel so special and loved. ; ) After that, she headed home and I went to Whole Foods to pick up stuff, and came home. Talked to [livejournal.com profile] suspended_dusk via chat, and we coordinated for him to come over for a while. I had a few cups of the tea I had just picked up from WF...Gingerbread Spice for the holidays. Yum. Anyhow, we talked for a while, and I played some music, a lot which he had not heard. I think he liked most of it. I gave him a cd I had made and he gave me my astrological chart. I haven't finished reading it because I was too tired last night once he left.

So I am very tired now, as I got woken up by a friend who needed to stop by and pick up his wife's laptop (that Chas had been working on prior to leaving). I knew he had said he'd call, so it was no surprise. And I also knew it was time for me to get up anyhow, or else I won't be able to get to bed on time tonight to get up for work tomorrow morning. Nevertheless, I need some energy juice or something. I still need to think about dying my hair. My plans for yesterday fell through, and I am wondering if I shouldn't just wait for Chas to come back and do it for me.

Well, it is now lunchtime, so I am going to reheat my leftovers from yesterday, and then take the rent up to the leasing office. It will give me a chance to see the other buildings, and what colors they were painted. I like the building up from us better than ours...their base is a warm golden yellow, with maroon (redder than ours) and ivory accents for the trim. It just looks really good. I mean, ours is better than what it was before, so I shouldn't really complain. I should probably do a load of laundry if possible. And who knows what else I am going to do. I hope I hear from Chas again. So far he has called me at least once a day. Ahhh, I miss him so much.

It has been years since I made a wishlist of any kind for a birthday or holiday, but my brother, Seth, apparently still does, and it seems he gets what he wants. His wife also did that for her birthday. So I decided to revive my past tradtion last night and made a wishlist on amazon.com, like they did for their birthdays. I'd started it a little while back, but never finished. So now I have myself a good list of things. I also linked it on my journal so any family members that view it will know how to access it. Pretty clever I thought.

So lazy...reheated my leftovers in my small bar pan from Pampered Chef, and am eating straight from it. : ) I wonder if they have a wishlist or something. Hmmm. Guess I can call a few people to find out. Need to finish eating now, and take the rent up.

Hi, My name is Heather, and I like Scandinavian folk music. I'm on a binge today. Found that the Northside website has added more music samples and videos, so I have been scouring the pages to watch and hear stuff from the bands I like. And I have been listening to cds from my Scandinavian collection all day. I will say I don't like it all, but I do enjoy a handful of the bands, even if the music is not really what I would normally listen to. Most of it has at least a little traditional elements, whether it be the instruments like the hardanger fiddle (ie. what the Rohan theme in The Two Towers features) or the kantele, morbid Nordic myths and legends for lyrics or lyrical inspiration, or just the singing/vocal styles. I think the Russian, Polish, and Swedish in me finds something special, or a certain connection with these bands, and with my Jewish upbringing, hearing music in another language is not so foreign to me, and I had plenty of exposure to music and theater. And I think that with theses combined, I can appreciate this music better, and care less about what others may think of me for liking it, though that last part is mostly inspired by PAZ...one of the first things I really admired about him, and a trait I gladly picked up from him.

I cleaned the bathtub not too long ago and now my hands smell like cleaning chemicals and rubber gloves. Not very pleasant to smell, no sir! I don't know if hand lotion will cure this, but I guess it is a shot. I hate cleaning.
