I had such a wonderful time last night with Chas, despite being scheduled to work until 7, and despite having to work until 7:30 because of a long call. But all was changed when I left. I was going to call him and ask him to prep a few things for me so when I got home I could make dinner faster, but I got a voicemail on my cell from Chas saying he had bought stuff to make dinner for me tonight...and he didn't tell me what it was. :)
Once I got home, he forbid me from looking in the oven, but it sure smelled yummy. So I watched Sunday's episode of Charmed from the pvr while dinner was cooking. When it was ready, Chas did everything...he got me a drink, brought my plate out, etc. So, what did he prepare for his lovely wife? I'll tell you. He made a pork roast and corn souffle with cheddar biscuits. It was all very tasty. The pork, in particular, was juicy and slightly pink inside. Ok, so the pork was pre-seasoned, the corn souffle was a frozen side, and the biscuits were from a bag mix, but that doesn't matter. He MADE it all just for me and that alone makes me happy. His effort into preparing it was so welcome. :) While we ate dinner, we watched some old music clips and videos that he'd transfered to DVD the previous night. During that time, he had forgotten about the dessert. (Head tilt) Dessert?? So, he got dessert into the oven while we watched more videos. The videos were done by the time the dessert was done and had cooled. He brought out dessert which was individual peach cobblers. They were so cute and so yummy! So while we ate our dessert, we put in another music DVD. This time it was a 2DVD set Split Enz compilation a friend made for us. We were watching the American released videos on the first disc. My my how those boys from down under can be wacky. Especially in their early period. Very artsy. Very theatrical make up and costumes. Anyhow, so I was in my huggy bear's arms and we were just feeling all bliss-like. I was very happy last night. I wanted to update how I felt then, but figured it would probably ruin the moment, so I stayed in Chas'arms instead, until I was ready for bed.
