15 February 2005 23:45Just came back from the Mikado, and I have to say, as operas go, this is a good one to start with. It's from Gilbert and Sullivan, those masters of the musical. Not only is it comical, but it is in ENGLISH. Even so, they had supertitles (the opposite of subtitles...above the actors rather than below). I think the best part was getting dressed up. I finally got a chance to wear the dress
maggie226 gave me what seems like eons ago. And I must say I looked fabulous. I added the pearls my parents gave me, and a small clip to pull part of my hair back, and away from my face. My mom let me borrow her shawl, and she gave me a small bag of stuff from my aunt which included a small leather purse from Coach that worked well.
I am just about packed, barring a few last minute items and my carry on, which is in the car at the moment. But I am leaving work at 1:30 and the cab is coming at 4:30, so I won't feel super rushed. I should probably get some sleep now as tomorrow is a big day.
Oh, and believe it or not, but my schedule has managed to get more screwed up. Again. Way more complicated than anyone really needs or cares to know.
