(no subject)
18 July 2006 23:20I was just watching a program, a little bit ago, called Wide Angle, on PBS. It is one of those global news documentary types of programs. I came across this one, because PBS is our default channel (2) on the dvr, and I heard an Eastern European voice, and that intrigued me. So, the program talked about the influx of Eastern European immigrants in Ireland, mainly Polish immigrants in Limerick, Ireland. I only caught part of it, and it sorta jumped around a bit, but I found it very interesting. I had no idea how much of a destination Ireland was for Eastern Europeans emmigrating! It reminds me of
adaneth's post about her recent trip to Ireland. I'd be really interested in seeing the whole program, to see how all the parts fit together. I'd really be interested in learning more on this subject.
