We managed to all the things we had to and get to the wedding on time. Hooray for us!!! The ceremony was nice. There were 2 rabbis leading the ceremony...it seems both families were too attached to their rabbi, so they both participated. Turns out they were in seminary together. That wasn't the only long time connection. Let me see how I can explain the connection easily. Ok, my mom (technically my step-mom) was friends with Karen and Jay in USY, a jewish youth group, when she was growing up. Karen and Jay got married and had 4 kids. When they were all in USY together all those years ago, they knew a guy named Perry. The wedding is for Karen and Jay's 2nd oldest son, Sam, and Perry's niece, Becca. Perry's son, Aaron, introduced Becca and Sam together at a USY event. Aaron also used to be my brother Mark's roommate at FSU. Perry is also our family doctor, and saved my mom's life a few years ago. Even more a a coincidence is that the Becca's family live around the corner from the house I grew up in, and Karen and Jay and the kids used to visit from St Pete all the time. Like I said before, the ceremony was really beautiful. Following the ceremony was a cocktail hour with nibbly bits...fried mozzarella sticks with marinara, bruschetta, spanikopita (no match to manoula's), and asian dumplings. Kind of an eclectic mix of nibbly bits. This whole part took way too long, but I did enjoy spending time with my family (minus Mark, since he was in the bridal party) and wandering around the hotel with Chas. The reception finally started and they did all the speeches and stuff and then the food came. I liked the food from the rehearsal dinner better. The dinner last night was still tropical in flavor. The salad had strawberries and oranges with a few walnut pieces and a light dressing. Lemon sorbet to cleanse the palate, and then baked fish with fruit compote and couscous with asparagus. All was rather bland in my opinion. The wedding cake was good. We danced a little and then left because yours truly has to work today.

Well, that said, I must get back to it.

ME! I'm back1!

It sounds like you had a lot of fun! I'm glad you did! My memorial weekend was adorable, especially because my boyfriend and I spent a lot of time together, it is always nice to be near that special someone! Well, your journal looks very nice (very professional, I must say...is it a trick so that the folks at work won't notice you're online?? LOL) Well, just trying to get my head off some reading I have to do for school, I shall be getting back to it now... :) Take Care!

Yay! Nice to hear from you! I did have fun this weekend, though it WAS busy. As for my journal, I was playing around with the settingsone night, just to see what the various templates and colors were, and I found this one. I don't think you can change the colors though. It is kinda sophisticated, and I like it, but I did like the cutesy one before. Nice thing about lj is that you can change it when you want to. :) It is true that it IS less noticeable at work.

Speaking of work, Chas is thinking of accepting a pt position for Apple in Pembroke Pines...now I know it is in south FL, but I don't know where exactly. Do you? I know you're near/in Miami. We're trying to figure out travel expenses to see if it is worth it for him to do it.
