As an effort to make us feel more appreciated today at work, the management bought breakfast for us. "Breakfast" consisted of a an assortment of cold, dry bagels (at least they sliced them...whew!), a tub of Country Crock, and juice...cranberry, apple, and Sunny D.
As for the bagels, I could have toasted it in the toaster oven in the kitchen/break room, but as I got my free food on a "bathroom break", I decided to take it cold and get back to my desk so I wouldn't be scolded at for taking "too long" in the bathroom. It also turns out that the "everything" bagel I had included caraway seeds, which I have only ever had on an "everything" bagel once before. I hate caraway!!!
My next quip would be, are they so cheap that they could not afford cream cheese? Come on man! Bagels and cream cheese is like meat and potatoes...they just go together.
How about real butter? If you let it sit out for a while, it will get soft enough to spread, and it won't go bad as long as you don't leave it out too long.
Lastly, why Sunny D? We live in Florida, so it is not like real orange juice is hard to come by or anything. Just for the sake of paying homage to
michael_winner, I had the Sunny D. Horrid stuff, that is.
It's not like I was expecting custom made omelets, pancakes and waffles or anything, but a wee bit more variety on the choice of food would have been nice. Some yummy croissants, muffins, and danishes would have balanced it all nicely. They could have brought in or borrowed a toaster oven for those who wanted their bagel toasted. There was an outlet close by and toaster ovens aren't at *that* big. I don't think I am being unreasonable here.
Just another example of the half-arsed attempts of this company to reward us without spending (too much) money or giving it to us.
Ugh...
