I just had a chat with Chas on AIM/iChat, and he is safe and sound in the hotel in Seattle now. He praised the city looking beautiful at night, the numerous recycling bins, and the lack of Hummers on the road. :)

Tomorrow he gets up early to take the train into Vancouver.

I missed him as soon as I could no longer see his car driving away, though I have yet to cry as I have on previous occasions when he has gone away on a trip (but I have been a little choked up here and there today).

Well, time for beddie bye.

Yeah, I get really emotional when he leaves, even if for a few days.

Hi Plunk! Why is Chas-san up in the Great White North? Work-related, I hope. I sent some silly stuff to you...uh, tomorrow. - Ron in L.A.

He had some vacation time to use up from work, a week, it was the end of the slow season at the paper, and the flight there was incredibly cheap...$213 to Seattle, and $26 each way with Amtrack to go between the 2 cities, so less than $300 to go to Vancouver, BC. It was a great deal. He had contemplated seeing Jim and Sue, but I told him to wait until I could go, since they haven't seen me in ages, and I have never been to their place in NC. Guess after Katrina it was good he went to the opposite end of the country. :/

Also, we have aspirations to move there by this time next year, and so he wanted to scout out the area, the jobs, and so forth, to see if us moving there is really a posibility. So it is a little business, and a little pleasure. Can you reccommend any record stores there for him?
