Kevin Smith talks about Degrassi.

The 3 episode arc with Jay and Silent Bob will be released on DVD in November.

He said that he did not like the new series as much at first, but like me, seeing the old cast reprising their roles as adults, he became much more interested. He says he actually like TNG better because the writing and acting are better, and that is saying a l ot because he is obsessesd with the original series. It has been so long since I have seen the original, it is hard for me to tell.

I still hate the theme song, but it only took a few episodes to get in, and once I recognized the old characters were there, it was easy for me to get into it.

I was never a huge DeGrassi fan, but I am a big Kevin Smith fan. How cool! It must be so satisfying to have enough influence in your work as a director and writer to bring together the things you love and make a project out of it.

I saw in an interview, not sure if it was his one or not, that the concept of The Next Generation inspired him to make Passion of the Clerks.
