I am so happy that it is :finally: cooling off outside. Soon I will get to wear my sweaters and Old Navy Performance Fleece...I love that stuff! And I of course I can't wait til I can wear my wool pea coat. I don't want it to get too cold of course. :)

It reminds me of a time when Chas and I went to the First Thursday event a while back when our friend Doug did a glow stick paperbag mushroom installation. It was a nice brisk evening out. Here is a picture of the installation. This is one of many he does around town.

Yeah, he is a good friend of Liz Langley who is really good friends with my husband. So we are friends too. Actually, Chas helped him with his "hanger stories" installation at Stardust a while back. You really ought to come out to the next Cereal Sunday...he and Liz host it at the Peacock Room once a month...eat cereal (is provided for free) in your pj's in a bar watching old cartoons and Saturday Morning shows (Land of the Lost, Davey and Goliath among the non-cartoons). The last one was last weekend, so a few more weeks til the next one. Doug brought in pumpkin bread that his mom had made. Doug is very cool. :)

PS. He always does his mobile installations at this bookstore in Thornton Park, the name of which escapes me, because of the high ceiling, and Stardust for other things. I can try to let you know the next time he is doing a show if you like.

Wow, I didn't even know there WAS a mushroom guy. Thanks for broadening my horizons!
Didn't even know about paper bag mushrooms until one day not too long ago, I was driving down Lk. Underhill towards Conway and all these mushrooms were all over the place near the side of the road. It took me a couple days to realize they weren't real. Those mushrooms f*cked with my mind kinda hard for a while there, but in a good way. :)

Yeah, he has been doing it for years. I like the installation in the picture because he put glow sticks in the bags so they'd light up at night. :)
