So, in anticipation of getting my new cd player, I have just made 2 cds, well the playlists anyways. The first is an mp3 cd (with 102 songs on it), which is supposed to play in it. The second is an "oldies" cd, and by that I mean it contains songs that are (mostly) older than I am.

<lj-cut=text"the tracklist for the oldies cd"> Not 100% sure of the final order, but this is the order iTunes put it in when I hit shuffle. I might keep it this way, but it does put multiple tracks by the same artist together in a few spots. I might play around with the order before I burn it.

*The Venus In Furs is Bernard Butler, Clune, Jon Greenwood, Paul Kimble, Andy Mackay, Thom Yorke. These songs are Roxy Music covers recorded for the Velvet Goldmine Soundtrack. Two Members of The Venus In Furs covered Roxy Music's Bitter's End as well. The Grant Lee Buffalo track was written and recorded for the soundtrack.</lj-cut>

My/our collection isn't all that great in this area , and is lacking a lot of essentials. I have it in mind to add to the collection with Rubber Soul (for starters..more later), and a greatest hits from The Monkees. Might also re-buy Strange Days from The Doors now that it is on the iTunes Music Store. Who knows what else after that. However, our collection is not lacking in most other areas (glam, punk, new wave, cold wave, electro-pop, dance, ska, classical, etc) as it is peaking about 1500 cds.

Well, I am feeling quite famished now. I think there is a pizza in the freezer with my name on it! ; )

Maxine Nightengales "Right Back Where We Started From" kicks major ass. I got a more recent version done by a Disney brat and it doesn't hold a candle.

Ha! Thanks. We have a video clip of Mandy Moore on a late show doing a cover of XTC's classic, Senses Working Overtime.
