I just saw an ad on TV for Children's Pepto. Is this a sign of the continuing degradation of our diet, that they are making Pepto for kids? This is sad.

EDIT: So, I guess because I never had it as a kid, or at least I don't remember having it, I assumed it was not a kids thing, and that if kids had heartburn and indigestion, it was from their diet, which is steadily declining with the availability of fast food and other convenience foods. But I guess I am mistaken.

Was Pepto not for children before? My mom used to give it to me all the time. Kids easily get stomachaches, I think.

The commercial freaks me out too. I didn't have heartburn until I was 17, which is coincidentally also around the same time I started drinking soda.

Apparently it is quite common for kids to need it. In any case, does it really need to be marketed? Can you not see it on the shelves when you are at the store? Ugh, I really hate most commercials.

My parents always gave me ginger ale when I had an upset stomach. Well, except for the time that my father tried to steam me with wine, but he's kind of looney anyway.

But yea. We never even had Pepto in my house except when my uncle came to visit. We've never given Elliott Pepto, either. I give him tea with honey when his stomach is upset.

It had to be flat ginger ale, though. To this day, I have to drink bubbly ginger ale.

Try Vernors Ginger Soda if you haven't already. Bubbly and very gingery, but not too hot.

Ooh, I wish I had known about that when I was recovering from my knee surgery. I ended up drinking Schweppes a lot. Or maybe Canada Dry. All I know was that and crackers never tasted so good.

Yeah, I had a medical procedure where I had been sedated, and I was dizzy and drowsy after. I had chamomile tea, ginger ale and crackers. Vernors tastes much better than Canada Dry, because it is stronger...it makes regular ginger ale seem watered down by comparison. But is not as strong as Jamaican Ginger Ale which is quite potent.

Have you ever had Vermont Cracker Factory crackers?

No, but my favorite butter and cheese is Cabot of Vermont.

I apparently was lying about the name. It's the Westminster Cracker Factory and the also make Olde Cape Cod crackers. You must seek them out, they're amazing.

I went to Cabot on a field trip in high school. They do have damn tasty cheese.
