Heh heh. Funny you should chose that song. When I was growing up, the fact I was born in Montreal was rather mystifying to others, but it never went beyond that, and a few trips up there to visit my grandparents (in Mansonville). My uncle would come over with us from Montreal. But beyond that...I never thought to learn more about the country I came from. As for learning Frensh, well here in Florida Spanish is more dominent. I kida regret that now. Now as I am older and have tried to learn more about my roots, I can definitely say I *am* proud to be Canadian, even if I did not grow up there with the culture (though I watched enough YCDTOT and KITH and Degrassi!) as I would have if we hadn't moved when I was so young.
