I'd likely freeze in the snow being the Florida wuss I am despite my northern birth and blood, though the temperatures have not been that much colder than when we were there last month. But it is still a beautiful picture.

Some more beautiful snow pics from the same post to [livejournal.com profile] photovancouver taken recently.

We had flurries here sometime in the mid to late 80's but it melted too quickly. We do get to freezing temps, but we rarely have any precipitation at that temp that snow is a rare thing here. We did have a huge hailstorm in the early 90's and the kids were playing with the hail balls as if they were snow balls.

Yeah, I heard that there was a "Rare snow advisory for the Bay Area" the day that it hailed over here... We are just a mere hour and half [maybe two when the traffic is thick, which I know is often enough] away from the Bay Area. I never heard if there were actually any snow flurries or what. But I was really interested! I'm always interested in what goes on in the Bay Area. If I'm not here, which I have to be too much, I'm somewhere around those parts, when I can be.

But anyway, it's amazing the crazy freezing kind of rainy weather that we're STILL having, and the prediction yet of rain for all next week even! At least here in the Valley, (up and down through Modesto-Fresno areas) and it's supposed to be the first day of Spring. That'd be sort of okay, if it was a light Spring-like rain, but we're still talking the heavy cold kind...

Anyway, sorry to butt it, but I couldn't help notice a practical neighbour. Just sayin' HI. Hello. :-)

Is that snow on a flowering tree? Our flowers haven't started to bud just yet even though its been in the 50s by day, because they wouldn't survive a snow like this. I hope the tree does okay! This photo though, is stunning.

Yes, and I think it is a cherry blossom tree. I saw lots of them in Victoria when we were there. I was stunned at how beautiful the trees were despite the near freezing temperatures. You have to move there with us I tells ya!

I miss the snow, but I am afraid I would be a wus in the cold now that I am used to the California climate. That is a beautiful picture. Say hello to Chas for me.

Well, as I hear it, it doesn't snow for very long up in that part of the country...amybe a few weeks at maximum, but usually just a few days. I think if I had lived in Montreal more into my childhood, more into the part of it I could remember, I might be able to handle it more, but we went to the opposite extreme coming to Florida when I was 3.

They usually have good pics at [livejournal.com profile] picivc and [livejournal.com profile] photovancouver. I like that they are normal people taking them, and they are doing it because they love their area, not because they are paid to. Some have professional equipment and others don't.

I don't mind you browsing. :) I love this picture..the fact that you can see the pink buds under the snow is amazing. I wish we had a large sum of money so we could move to Vancouver or Victoria right now. :)
