Thursday: I honestly don't remember. That crack was sure some good stuff! ; ) Only kidding guys! I don't do that anymore. Actually I never did, but it is fun to pretend and freak out other people.
Friday: Not much happened, but after work we went to see my mom to pick up my brother's birthday present since we were going to visit him the next day, but more on that later. Her hair is growing in thick and curly and very grey, but she hasn't been dying it (for obvious reasons) since the surgery and chemo. Apparently now she has a problem with the lymphatic system; something to do with the reduced lymphnodes. With the double mastectomy, she had about 14 infected lymph nodes removed. Apparently this lymph problem is typical for someone in her situation. I think it is getting better though, and the only thing I have noticed is that her left arm was a little puffy and swollen. Maybe there is more to it than that, but I don't really know. I should try to pay more attention to the various illnesses she has had that are associated with the cancer. Anyhow, after we left, we headed over to the local Cracker Barrell for dinner, with dark clouds looming overhead and I got my mac and cheese fix fixed, temporarily. We came home (just before the rain started) and the cable guy still hadn't arrived with our new cable box, one capable of recording shows much like a Tivo does. But he did come out around 11:00 or so to install it.
Saturday: The morning was spent sleeping in, though I did wake up early with a headache. I took meds and went back to sleep for a while. Chas had been up all night doing work for a client, and cleaning up the floors so we could get the carpets cleaned. He passed out for the majority of the morning. The carpets never got cleaned because the leasing office never made the appointment, so we rescheduled it for Monday. No biggie. Around 2 or so, I began to pack an overnight bag to go to Tampa with. I tried several times to wake Chas up so we could leave town since the bad rain was on its way here.
We eventually left town and had to meet the brother and friends at a Crazy Buffet for dinner since there was a butload of traffic and the rain did not help either. Nice place...a bit overpriced for average food, but every meal comes with a fillet mignon cooked to order, so I guess that makes up for the price. From there, fully stuffed and practically rolling ourselves to our various transport devices, we proceeded to the Tampa Dog Track. Now I know what you're all saying, you want PROOF, that I was actually there. Sadly to say, the camera was packed in the suitcase which was in the trunk of our car, and it was all rainy and wet. Plus, we simply forgot we had it with us. We got there around 9pm or so, in time for the last half of the races. Once Chas understood it a little, he tested his skills and so we bet on 3 or 4 of the remaining races. Including the $1 per person admission, and $1 booklet, we lost a total of $6 the whole night. For those not strong in math, strictly betting, we only lost $3. We are kicking ourselves though, because in the 2nd to last race, he decided not to bet, but said which dog he would have bet on, and sure enough, it won. We would have won $12.20, the highest payout we would have gotten that evening. We would have come out ahead of every one else there in our party too. Oh well. We went home after that to our cousin's place in Clearwater, while the rest of the gang drank the night away.
Sunday: We were supposed to wake up early and have brunch, but as the "gang" got back at 6:30, it did not happen. We did manage to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to the 3pm showing of "Sunset Boulevard" at the Tampa Theater. What a magnificent place that is! We came home through torrential rain, and saw a car on fire on the interstate (in the median) as we were coming back into Orlando. It looked like everyone was out safely. Chas went ot do a demonstration for a client and I schmoozed ar home and broke the new cable box's hard drive.
Monday rolled along and it was back to work. Not much exciting there, but more later, since it is passed my bedtime now.
