Comment on this post and I will choose seven interests from your profile. You will then explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers to your own journal so that others can play along.
I was tagged with the following:
1. bel canto
2. winged migration
3. krispy kreme
4. kasha
5. caramel
6. cuddling
7. danger mouse
I may not be able to explain why she is interested in them other than she is my best friend and has known me a while, but here we go anyway..
1. bel canto--means beautiful singing I believe, but in this case of interests I am referring to a band from Norway that I like that an ex used to play for me, and even though we broke up fairly early on in the relationship, I still went out and bought the cd he played me, eventually collecting more of them. I admit when they changed directions with their music I was less enthusiastic. Still, the first 3-4 cds are great. Both of the top 2 videos here are from Birds of Passage, their second cd. The first video is of the title track and the second is "A Shoulder to the Wheel" which is an all time favorite of mine. The third is a self made video to "Spiderdust" from Shimmering, Warm and Bright (3rd cd) which is a bit odd but has interesting imagery, including Elvira, Nightmare Before Christmas, Dali and Waterhouse. The last one is not a true video either...just a still with the song. Also from Shimmering, Warm and Bright. Ok, so one more, to illustrate the direction they went into...a little more poppy and funky (Jah Wobble on bass for the 4th cd) and less ethereal poetic electronic etc. It's not bad...just different. Watching these clips makes me sad for the lost friendship and plants seeds in my head for our future as friends...or not.
2. winged migration--a movie that came out several years ago that was basically a nature documentary on migratory patterns of birds. A movie about birds? Flying? YES! A movie about birds flying filmed exquisitely with an amazing soundtrack including Nick Cave and Robert Wyatt...got interested in Robert Wyatt this way. Will the gods of youtube have a clip for me to show?
3. krispy kreme--perfection in light airy doughnuts. Some people say they're too sweet, and yeah, they are. But I love them and that's that. :P

4. kasha--quite simply, kasha is buckwheat and also considered to be Jew food. I love cooking it in butter with shallots and cumin for more nutty earthiness flavor.
uncooked kasha

cooked kasha

usually mixed with bowties (sometimes onion/carros/mushrooms)...also called kasha varnishkes

5. caramel--other than the sticky sweet stuff...an "in" thing with an ex. The rest stays private, m'kay?
6. danger mouse--a British cartoon from my childhood...surely I have done this one before.
