On Friday I was able to leave work early, so I went home and took care of things in preparation of [livejournal.com profile] octophonic arriving the following day. We ended up meeting up with some friends of ours at a local Irish pub, but as usual, they were late arriving. Still, once everyone was there, it was great. It was a birthday party for 2 of our mutual friends. Didn't really do much after that really.

Saturday morning Chas and I visited with my parents and my grandad. Chas also did some computer work for a friend of ours nearby, and we eventually got home an hour or so before [livejournal.com profile] octophonic (aka PAZ) arrived. We relaxed and chilled for a while before heading to the local Doctor Who club's holiday party. It seems all little boys are drawn to me, as at this party, 3 year old Nicholas latched onto my hand and proceeded to drag me all over the house the party was being held at. We watched my huggy bear participate in "Doctor Who's Line Is It Anyway" where clearly he was the only comedic talent. When they were ready for the auction, PAZ and I decided to jet for a little while. Through a little brilliant quick thinking on my part, we met up with some mutual friends of ours (the friends that introduced us to each other nearly 10 years ago) who lived nearby to the party. Eventually Chas called and said he was done MC-ing the auction, so we picked him up and headed to a late dinner at a neat little Chinese place (not a buffet) on the way back to our area. It was really good, as always. From there we headed to a small pub nearby for a while because 2 of our favorite local bands/friends were playing. It was getting late, we had all had a long day, so we went home and crashed.

Sunday we got up early so we could make the trek to The Pancake House (Old Spanish Sugar Mill) in DeLeon Springs for a late breakfast. By coincidence, we ran into a friend of ours from Orlando. He is dating the owner of the place. So he and his party invited us to sit with them and we had a nice time. Walked around the park a little before heading back to town to catch a matinee of Return of the King. Not much else happened for a while after that. We went home and we napped a little, then went out with [livejournal.com profile] glittergrrl69 later in the evening to look at PORN!! Woo hoo!!! Once leaving, we got in the mood for Steak and Shake so we went there before going home.

Monday we had yummy bagels for breakfast where I had, for the first time, almond amaretto cream cheese. Yummy! I had it with an 8 grain bagel. We made our ritual visit to the dollar store a few doors down, and we found a few things as usual. Took Chas home and ran a few errands and ended up at Park Avenue cd's. Oh sweet home! I hadn't planned on getting anything, but I found a cd by a band from Toronto we had been told about by an online friend. SInce it was used, I plopped it in the cd player to give it a listen, and I liked it, so I got it and gave it to Chas as a Hanukkah gift. (We listened to it yesterday together and he really likes it!)Later in the afternoon, once we came back home, we were burning cds so I got my 2 disc Front 242 collection he had made for me and the first cd of a multi disc Cocteau Twins collection and a copy of his Hi! I'm Fat Guy cd (which features the Whee! song popularized on the internet via email a few years back). Finally heard from Jason, and we decided to do a dinner and coffee thing so he and PAZ could continue catching up before he left again. Jason had already eaten, but we had not eaten for hours, and were ravenous. We went to Brio and had some yummy food, and over to the Borders nearby for coffee. Chas and I kept to ourselves while the boys did more catch up alone.

That was about it. Nothing too exciting, but an enjoyable weekend in all.
