I remember as a kid being able to eat immense amounts of sugary confections and not have it bother me. I remember the adults saying it (like frosting on a cake) was too sweet and they couldn't eat anymore. I remember thinking that they were crazy and it would never happen to me.

It has happened to me. I was eating a Lil' Debbie Valentine heart thing today and the icing in the middle felt like it was biting through my teeth. This is not the first time eating icing (or something with it) has affected me this way, though it made me feel old for the first time.

yes!

I felt the same sensation when Alex and I were in Florida in September. We went to a little carnival, and not only could I not go on more than 2 rides in a row without getting sick, but I couldn't handle the pop that I got, because there weren't really any other options to drink, and it was much too sickly sweet for me.

Bleh!

I think it is icing and rillings that do it too me. Soda I think I can handle, because the acid and carbonation numb my mouth! :)

Rides? Haven't been on any in while to see if I feel the same way.

I have my time off request in for next month...fingers crossed it all goes well.

Adulthood sucks?

Adulthood may have its bad points but I would rather live in an occasionally sucky adulthood than ever go back to my horrible, emotionally abusive childhood. At least now I get acknowledged and treated with respect. I'll take age changes like less tolerance for sugar and thrill rides over having someone else dictate how I should live my life any day! :)
