Am I the only person NOT watching the Oscars? Probably. Well, I can hear them from the other room where Sean and Chas are watching. I have a nice cup of hot ginger spice tea with me here. Ahhh. :)

Am SO tired right now. I spent the afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] shyystarr and the tykes. They came over here for a little bit, and I fed them the last of my cherry cobbler. We went to Stardust to get some coffee, though I ended up getting an Odwalla Super Food bar and a bottle of water. Despite being greenish brown in color (from the greens [ie the super foods] and the fruits like the dates and bananas), the bar was actually really good. In fact, Mackenna asked for some, without knowing what it was (just because I was eating it), liked it and asked for more of my "cookie" after eating her little bite. Except that I had eaten the last bit so she threw a temper tantrum. Cameron was continually hitting Haley and all 3 kids were driving us crazy! We decided to take them to a park nearby and let them run around until they got tired. We got a bit peckish after that and we decided to search for some bbq. We had a good meal not too far away, and then I came home.

Not much else to say I guess. I do want to tell a few of my close lj friends that I love them, and I hope they can make it through these tough and trying times. I am not going to mention names, as those that this is intended for should already know who they are. I love you always and I am constantly thinking of you. :)

I want some chocolate now, so bye for now.

Meh. I could care less about the Oscars. Lots of people flaunting lots of money. Like we need to be reminded that we're broke... >.<

Chas s watching, because the website he works for (as a movie reviewer) had Oscars predictions by all the reviewers. On their ownm the reviewers all decided whoever was most off base in their predictions had to review Special Agent Cody Banks II, or something like that. So it is in his interest to see how well he did. I am happy here at the computer, overhearing little bits here and there. :)

I didn't watch the Oscars either! They don't interest me at all. I found a much better way to spend that time - read several chapters from Al Franken's book "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0525947647/102-1224176-8628912?v=glance)". GREAT book so far!

I'm thinking of the clothes we saw while shopping and how much I want them!

I didn't watch them. I forgot they were on. Or rather I didn't know when they were supposed to be. I just heard LotR won all the awards it was nominated for. But that's all I know :).

I don't feel so un-American now for having missed them, mostly.

If it makes you feel any better I also never watched American Idol (Well it was on once at my friends but I thought it was pretty boring and jam packed with annoying commercials. Oh, also drug out). So I get extra "anti American" points for that *lol* :).

I watched AI once because a friend of mine made it through 3 auditions and she was in the montage at the beginning of at least 2 of this seasons shows. I missed the second one though.

Do I get anti-ameican points because I was born in Canada, and only got my US citizenship 11 years ago?

Or that I disapproved of the war and have a brain of my own?

Sometimes I feel like such an outsider.

We were thinking Australia or New Zealand, as the climate is hopefully better suited to my mostly Floridian upbringing. I only lived in Montreal until I was 3, and Florida the rest of my life. I don't handle the cold too well. :)

I said Austraila would be nice, especially since his aunt lives there. Canada would be too cold for me. I had also suggested Switzerland.

Canada is too close to Bush personally, thoug I have family there still. I think most of Europe would be too cold for me honestly, though I wouldn't mind if I could handle the cold and could learn a new language well enough.

I wonder how long it would take to get that Australian/New Zealand accent/dialect?

Jared's parents live in Ohio so he said they could drive to see us *lol* he also said the arts scene for both of us is probably more promising there. Personally I never understoof why Americans made fun of Canada. I think they've their act together better than we do.

I went to Bavaria in December and it wasn't as cold as Ohio that next week *lol* plus I liked how in Germany there were smaller cars and more people walking around. And there were cute old men in shorts and long socks with their leiderhosen (sp?) walking around in the snow. Honestly I haven't been to Switzerland but I would imagine it wouldn't be too different.

My husband said it didn't take long for his aunt to get a thick Australian accent, I think he said a few years, maybe five or so?
