I'm not dead yet!
1 July 2004 11:09Training has been good this week. It has been slow, but thorough. Weird thing happening though is that our badges have not been working consistently since yesterday, so periodically we get locked out of the training areas, and sometimes we can get in. Luckily there are security guards near the doors that can badge us in again. Not sure how many other people or what other doors it is affecting.
Had a strange dream last night. Included:
-the creepy guy we saw at Popeye's last night
-Maggie from/because of the yet to be heard story of Jimmy and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
-parking lot/road by the main and back doors at Convergys near the training department
-Thriftko from mention in Leslie's post recently read
-my bedroom, specifically the dresser
-die cast model car we saw at the grocery store last night
Hah. At least I know where the elements of the dream came from. Not sure if there was a coincidence or hidden meaning.
Gotta go back to training. Break is over.

I was hoping it was not true yesterday, but today I am nearly convinced that I am getting sick again. Great timing. Yesterday afternoon my throat was really dry and scratchy and it did not matter how much liquid my mouth took in. Plus, I was sneezing a lot. It is still scratchy and my nose is running though I did take a lot of vitamins and sinus/allergy stuff this morning. Hopefully this will be a quick bout of allergies so I will not be miserable in training the whole 3 weeks or take time off to go to the doctor. Good thing for me that I found a girl to carpool with too.
Well, I must try to catch up on mail and posts. then to the theater for me.

25 June 2004 16:13Yay sushi! I can't wait to go home, and to have a sushi celebration dinner with some of the coolest people on the planet! :) Then 2 viewings over 2 days of Fahrenheit 9/11 over the weekend. Yes kids...2 shows in 2 days!!! You must think we're crazy...well, maybe that is true. :P Anyhow, for those interested in joining on our political expression escapades, here is our film schedule:
Saturday, 1:30p, AMC Altamonte Springs
Sunday, 4pm, Enzian Theatre
We welcome anyone who would like to join us at either of these showings, but I warn you, tickets are selling out EVERYWHERE! Last night when we were at "Super Size Me", they were pre-selling Fahrenheit 9/11 tickets and all of the Friday shows were sold out! And the film wasn't even open then. Jiminy!
Well, a little less than an hour to go. Please VGH, please VGH!!!

Surprise surprise.
24 June 2004 14:50When I got home yesterday, there were a few surprises in store for me. Our friend Doug, the artist whose show we were at Friday night, was sitting on the floor of our office/guest room. Chas was burning a copy of the cd that Doug was playing at the mobile installation for me, and a spare copy for the store owner who put on the show since we both liked it. He also brought over our mobile! We'll try to get a picture of it when it is up and post it. And Chas bought me a bar of Toblerone. Mmmm. He gets a reward for that. :p
Well, not much more to tell. I am learning of more and more people who will be in my Charter training class Monday. Lots of people who aren't going are saying things like "the grass isn't *always* greener on the other side" and "it may be just as bad on Charter" and other similar things. Pessimists. Maybe or maybe not, but I'd like to *think* that maybe it will be better up there; try to think possitively, though with my head somewhat rooted in reality. I realize it may not be great, but there is no way to find out other than to go there. The people up there that I know seem to be happy, so that ought to be a start. Right?
Oh yeah, update with the hair seems ok. I think the dye essentially did what I wanted it to do in the first place. ( If you want to know the boring details... )

Oh, by the way...
21 June 2004 12:39I totally forgot to talk about Friday night. I mean, it was not too wild or anything, but I had a nice time nonetheless. For starters, we went downtown to the Thornton Park district because our friend, Doug, was hosting an art installation of his mobiles at Urban Think! bookstore. He has had a few other installations there, and some at Stardust Coffee and Video where Chas even participated in one of them before! This time, at the mobile installation, Chas and I decided to buy one of them. We bought the smallest, and least expensive at $20. I am not sure when we get it, or whether we pick it up or he brings it to us, but hopefully we will have it soon to put up. He is also making me a copy of the cd he had made for the show. I even learned the name of a Radiohead song that has been un-named on a cd I was given what seems ages ago. Anyhow, I am happy that we bought art from a local artist. Especially since he is a friend that we are supporting. Went to dinner afterward. Houlihan's. Lots of gay boys there for some reason. Not nearly as many as last night when we took Chas' dad there for Father's Day dinner. Yeah, we went twice in 3 days. Was strictly coincidence. Plus, I got to try different food. Speaking of, it is time for me to go to lunch and eat my yummy leftovers. :)

19 June 2004 23:24I just finished the last of my organic blueberry juice. That was yummy. Guess it is time to break out the white grape cherry juice now.
I was a fucking genius in the kitchen just now though. Chas is sleeping and I am NOT wasting all night to make a meal he will not be eating hot when it is done anymore. So I made a quick meal. Jeebus. It took literally a minute to make. Had a little leftover noodles from the pastitsio, and a small amount of spinach dip from last night's dinner at Houlihans. So I literally heated the small amount of noodles for about 45 seconds in the microwave, then added the spinach dip to make a sauce. I couldn't have asked for more perfect amounts! Tastes good too! :)

19 June 2004 22:31WARNING!
I hate those hoax warnings, but this one is important! Send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list.
If someone comes to your front door saying they are conducting a survey and asks you to take your clothes off, do not do it!!! This is a scam; they only want to see you naked. I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap now.....

Yesterday Chas and I spent spent practically every waking moment together and we had such a great day! We started out by getting up early-ish and going to his credit union to look into me getting an account. We did everything in time and headed over to OSC (the Orlando Science Center), which was a few minutes away from the credit union, for Chas' FLMUG (Florida Macintosh User Group) Bored Meeting, but first, we stopped at RD&S (Renew, Donate, & Support) also in the science center to help the guys out. I have no technical skill so I couldn't really help out fixing the old machines, but I watched a guy change a battery on one of the machines. After that, most of the guys up there were board members so they all left to go with Chas to find meeting space. I joined them, having my bag o' amusements to keep me occupied! Despite the fact I had my Game Boy, and was deep in Tetris concentration, I was able to hear what was being said and was able to offer a few suggestions which everyone liked. Well, they all like me anyways because I'm a cute, sweet, young girl! I'm the first lady of the club since Chas is now acting president. After the meeting got out, Chas and I went to check out an event we were interested in, but realized it was still a week away, but at the same time we saw the schedule for the CineDome (IMAX theater) and it was the last day for the "Ring of Fire" showing and I wanted to see it...volcanos intrigue me. So Chas bought the tickets and we inquired about coming back later to go to the observatory. The guy gave us free armbands to use when we came back later the observatory between 6-9pm! The CineDome show was about 45 minutes later, so we ate lunch and then went to the show. That theater was 8 stories high!
