In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, I have decided to present an article on bras and breast cancer. I also changed my layout colors to pink for the same reason, though I like it all pretty and stuff so I might keep it like that for a while. Pink is really growing on me, or am I growing on it? Hmm.

Yup, the last few days have been sneeze fests for me. And of course, sneezing leads to a runny nose which generally leads to an unhappy Heather. :(

Didn't I just get over a sinus infection and bronchitis like a month ago? Sure, give the girl some happy time and take it all away once she is getting comfortable with it. Boom! It's gone. Odd thing is, tree pollen is high this weekend, and not grass, which is what I tested positive for. Grass was moderate a few days ago, and I did begin having some reactions then, but just a migraine and a few sneezes. Today and yesterday morning I woke up to a sore throat, probably because I couldn't breath through my nose as well, or perhaps from the post-nasal drip. Doesn't matter either way; it is still irritating. Maybe this is just a prolonged reaction to the high grass pollen from last week and not an immediate reaction to the high tree pollen from this weekend. I just want it to go away, and let me feel normal and good like i have the last few weeks.

I am wondering if an ear candling would help with the post-nasal drip and sinus pressure. Must search for allergy/sinus medication. I gotta do something.

I had a strange dream last night...I am not altogether clear on the whole thing now, since I waited so long to write any of it down. But one part kinda stuck in my mind. I was carrying a goose in my arms, and I think either a puppy or kitten too. I was walking alone with my anipals and spotted a duck with a cigarette in it's mouth. I remember scolding the duck about smoking, and took it out of its mouth, then stomped on it with my foot (luckily I had shoes of some sort on) to put it out. Really strange. The only connections I can think of would be that I recently played the first few tracks of the Winged Migration cd, and one of the tracks I heard was "The Highest Gander" by Robert Wyatt. I guess the other animal influence was from my drug induced (antihistamine) afternoon, sitting at the back door, peering out at the squirrels "playing" with each other. I was amused for some time. :p

Speaking of anipals, thanks go out to [livejournal.com profile] phishtails for being a friend, and doing what friends do, and being there for me. Despite my wild emotions that night, I enjoyed our conversation, but I am sorry it had to end so abruptly.

Well, that is all for now. I am going to brave the heat and go to the store, and then come back and make dinner. Woo hoo! Speaking of dinner, I want to make this soon. I would really like to make it with someone though, and share the fun of cooking with others.

Jury Duty was fairly painless yesterday. I know I moaned and groaned a bit, but that is only because I have been summoned more than Chas has, and the one time he was summoned we were going on a trip or something. whatever it was, he got excused from going. However, in all actuality, they really do try to make it a positive experience for everyone. At least Orange County (FL) here works hard to make it pleasant. They had the standard chairs, tables, vending machines and restrooms. They also had a vendor with coffee and nibbly bits come in for the breakfast hours (it was not free though), phones, data jacks, a room with a TV, and a cyber cafe though everything for mail or journals and similar sites were blocked. In addition, I had my new mp3/cd player (El Targhetto special for $30) with an mp3 cd including 140 songs, my gameboy, my book, and word find. With the cyber cafe, which was not there the last time I was summoned, I mostly played games or browsed what websites I could. After my eyes teared up from staring at the screen so long, they ended up releasing us for lunch. Good thing too. I was beginning to get hungry. The nice thing about Orange County is that the courthouse is downtown, and there is a plethora of restaurants to choose from. Many of them cater to the fast food needs of the businesses that surround them. This was my chance to try something I had never tried before. I had wanted to try Cafe Annie's because, despite the ubiquitous name, they served a fair amount of Greek and Middle Eastern foods. It was an empowering 3 block walk. Empowering in the sense that I was by myself, walking downtown, and I almost felt like I belonged. Not to mention it was GORGEOUS outside at this time. I got there, but still was not too hungry yet. I should have stuck with the fattoush salad and kept it light, but I was a sucker for a gyro. It was ok. Too big though. I was only able to eat half of it. So after lunch, I went back to the jury holding area, and waited. I was eventually called with another girl. We went up to replace 2 people who had been removed from the initial jury panel lot. There was the possibility the trial could run late or even possibly to the next day. I did not have a problem with that as my employer pays me for time served, and that would be one less day I would have to go to work. :P The lawyers and judge asked a bunch of questions, and then we waited outside the courtroom for a long time while a decision was made of who to pick. In the end, they (the judge and 2 lawyers) could not come to a conclusion/agreement as to which jurors to keep, and they ended up not having enough, so the case was postponed. We went back downstairs to the holding area, and were released shortly after. Not bad. So, once again, I have been called up a few times to the jury selection process, but never been selected. In this case, no one was selected though. I guess that all in all, my day was fine.

...but how does one dress to jury duty? I can't remember the last time I went and whether I was dressed up or casual, or somewhere in between. I have to be there at 8 am tomorrow morning, but at least I will have my bag o' goodies (ie gameboy, book, mp3 player) so long as they let me keep them. I don't see why not, as I was ok last time I think.

Blah.

I just got a new bathing suit today!! I had to, since I outgrew my old one and I don't have any of my old ones though since I haven't gained back all the weight I lost they'd still be too big on me. Anywho, I got off from work early, realized it was fucking hot, and that I wanted to swim, but realized I had no bathing suit that fit me anymore, so I went to Ross as a last minute decision before heading home. It was $12 at Ross. I love that store! It has pink and red flowers in a kind of retro halter style. The bottoms could probably have a bit more coverage, but at least they have a back. :)

Well, I must wake huggy bear up so he can get back to work, and I can start dinner. Beef stroganoff...mmmm!

God damn PMS!!!

I'm craving massive amounts of salty, crunchy snack foods (particularly the kind with spray on gook) even though I am not hungry, and of course I will want assloadds of sugary sweet confection after that. :P

Must not cave in to hormonal desires.

Last night's dinner was an amusing one. I don't remember exactly, but somehow, Chas and I got to talking about SPAM and other foods typically associated with southerners and trailer parks. He'd had it before, growing up in Atlanta in the 60's, so we went to Big K (that's K-mart) and picked up some SPAM, vienna sausages, RC cola, and moonpies. We already had the eggs. Somehow we just knew we could find it all there. :P Actually, they didn't have moonpies by name, so we picked up "marshmallow pies" instead. Chas cooked it all for us. Jeebus Christ...the SPAM actually wasn't half bad. It was a bit too salty for me though. The vienna sausages weren't that bad either, but they were pretty mushy. I don't know what to think now. Am I bad for kinda liking SPAM?

Taken from just about everybody...heh.

Ask me 3 questions, no more, no less. Three shall be the number of questions thou shalt ask, and the number of the asking shall be three. Four shalt thou not ask, neither ask thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Ask whatever you want, I'll answer it (or die trying).

Then go to your journal and copy/paste this allowing your friends to ask you anything.

And perhaps it is not the best day to irritate me as the PMS bus should be coming any time now to pick me up.

For starters, I exchanged my jeans for a different pair cuz the seam was funky in my right leg. It would twist up and change directions at the bend in my knee. The pair I swapped were fine so I brought them home. But now they are doing the same thing. Maybe my thighs are deformed or something. I don't think ironing will help because they were fine in the store, and this is the first time wearing them since. Plus, I don't have this problem on my left leg. Unless I should iron them with each use, which I shouldn't have to do. But these are the best looking and fitting jeans I have found so far. Did I mention how picky I am? Yeah, so I don't want to return these, cuz I won't have any to wear after that. But I don't know what else to do. Having the seam sewn flat will probably look funny, and I don't know about gluing it either...that could be messy. I guess I will check with a seamstress or alterator about it and go from there.

In addition, I am irritated because I got in my car this morning and the needle for the gas tank was on "E" and I had no idea it was that low. I also got no indication or warning from Chas last night when he came home that it was low. If he couldn't have put a few dollars in it, the least he could have done was let me know it was low, so I could have made the arrangements to leave earlier this morning. But since he didn't, I was late to work, because I needed to get gas to get there. I'm sure he didn't mean to do that or be inconsiderate, but it still irks me. Good thing I get paid tomorrow, cuz I have very little moolah.

On my lunch hour, I walked outside in the wind, sometimes into it, sometimes with it. Now my ears hurt. Both of them. I can feel the pressure behind each ear as well as the pain in the ears. I took some decongestant tablets, so here's hoping that will help soon. That hot bath is looking so nice right now. I wish they were VGHing like they did yesterday. :(
