There is this strange feeling, standing outside and looking up at the dark, looming clouds with the wall of rain below; hearing the distant boom of thunder and seeing the occasional crack of lightening; and watching this whole mess slowly move closer and closer to you, and knowing that you are going to get smothered by it if you stay there.

I'm just glad I was smart enough to grab my umbrella from the car while I was outside on my last break, just as the first drops of water were beginning to fall. Oddly, I can't tell if it is raining outside now; I think it looks wet outside, but there is no howling wind or rain pounding the side of our building. I hope it will be dry (enough) for pre Fourth of July fireworks later this evening.

once, we were packing up after softball practice...i guess we were like 14 or 15...and all of a sudden we heard this noise like a swarm of bees coming. we all looked at each other, grabbed as much as we could, and ran for the minivans to hide under the opened trunk doors as sheets of rain suddenly started to come down. it was pretty cool. :)

Florida rain can be pretty unique...I'dmiss our rain if I ever moved away.

It's hot here too, but the rain just makes it more humid...as if it can get any more humid than it already is.

It varies. Normally drier, and not much rain, though tons this last winter. Can get into the 30's at night. With wind chill it has gotten to to teens but vay rarely and not for long. Gets uncomfortable for us Southern folk below 60. :)

You'd probably like it. We do get our fair share of "snowbirds" in the winter.

I've never skied or anything before. I have seen snow twice. Once in the mountains of California, but it wa more like ice, and once in Chicago, and it was pretty light they say.
