Ah, Polonia, how I have missed you! Too bad we missed [livejournal.com profile] lemonlies, but we will be back, and probably on a weekend anywho. I thought of [livejournal.com profile] lorelei_aisling while we ate, because of the food and the music. I have realized that 20 something years can change your view of something. I got bold enough to try the borscht; I haven't had it since I was a kid visiting my Polish grandparent's farm in Canada. It was really good (as was everything else)! I wish my Glitter was there.

Hooray for Nymphie and Kurosawa! )

Anyone interested in a game night or pot luck or something sometime soon?

"Get a fruit buzz!"

Uh, how about, "Get a sugar high!" instead?

This thing has fruit aka sugar, yogurt with (milk) sugar, and candied walnuts...more sugar!

For a moment there, I began singing the lyrics to the Pet Shop Boys song Yesterday, When I Was Mad in place of the lyrics to The Stranglers song (Get A) Grip (On Yourself) before the actual lyrics started. I wonder why that was. Was it because the two songs share a common opening melody that I confused one for the other? Maybe it is the lyric phrasing and symmetry. So I just listened to the intros of both songs, and swapped the opening lyrics on each, and they pretty much fit. Odd how that works. If you have iTunes, you can hear both and judge for yourself (choose the "Grip" option in the list for The Stranglers for the most accurate portrayal of the song; it is the second one down). Even the tempo on both songs have similar characteristics, even though one is synthesized and the other is more rock. One song is from 1977, and the other 1994. Hmm.

So, just a few minutes ago, we had a squirrel climbing around on our screen door, only it looked weird because where we were looking at it from, you can't see the actual screen, and so it looked like he was just floating around. Or impossibly walking around on the glass door.

We slept too long.

Not enough time to get there before they close.

No Polonia. :(

The chiropractic visit did nothing. I was expecting an adjustment, but apparently this was only a consultation, and as I don't intend to go to this doctor (based on their office locations which are inconvenient for me), there was no point in getting x-rays and such. But it was a good price for the visit while we were waiting for Chas' health insurance (for lower co-pays than mine). Well, we were never charged so only my time was wasted. But I did get a referral to someone in Maitland, and a sample of a pain gel thing. So not a total waste, but I could have gotten that on my own. But I am still in some level of pain. Argh!

Buddhism in Nova Scotia? Who'da thunk it?

Mostly Japanese cds on ebay from my friend. Browse, and buy if you like.

Saw "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" at the Studio theater tonight. It saddens me to see how empty the fairly small theater was.

Rescheduled chiropractor appointment tomorrow. Thank god! The tingling is getting on my nerves, literally.

Polonia tomorrow night? Let's hope. :D

Bubbalou's for Father's Day?? Yum.

Time to check AE.com to see if the sandals and shirts are still on sale.

Alka-Seltzer is some nasty stuff. Blergh!

I have been having way more sinus headaches lately, nearly daily, and I think I have begun enjoying being in a dark and quiet room by myself more since that is what I have to do when I have headaches, sinus or migraine. I think that Chas is onto something, though I don't really know all that's going on, or how to fix it, but I fear I will have to go to a doctor about it soon. I think this is more than I or my friends can handle, or understand.

So I was virtual shopping at AE.com. Even with stuff on sale I can spend over $100.00(!)

I was going to show a virtual outfit I had made, but the links on the website are funny and I could only get a jpg for the sandals. Crappo.

Anyhow, the sandals )

It has come to my attention, while looking at the summer stuff, that I really need some summer jammies. Thay have to be light and cool enough, but I have to be able to decent enough if people come over while I am in them. I have a pair of old VS jumper thing, but the material is thick, and not as light and airy as other versions of this were at the time. Sigh. I shouldn't have had that coffee at Austin's, but I needed the energy boost to see our friends, while their son played in a band with a couple girls from his high school. Not I am so hot. I should get some cold water or something. Or just go to bed.

I am watching The Adventures of Baron Munchausen; I love this movie. There was a scene where the ship is going to the moon, and Sally and the Baron are sleeping with their hands/arms over the edge. Anyhow, it reminded me of something. There is a habit of mine, something I am always aware of.

Since I was a child, I was always aware of my hands and arms when I was sleeping, well, in the process of falling asleep anyway. See, I had this fear, or superstition that if my hands or arms were over the side of the bed, that a monster from under the bed and eat them. Of course, I *know* now that there are no monsters that will rip my hands or arms off, yet I still keep them close to me, and away from the edges to this day. Is that not silly?

I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] lorelei_aisling

List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter
what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're
any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post
these instructions, the artist and the song in your blog along with
your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're
listening to.

My list:

1) Roda Einai... [Remix] - Lambis Livieratos
2) Matia Feggaria Mou - Thanos Kalliris
3) Two Guitars - Marc Almond with Loiko
4) Heart on Snow - Marc Almond
5) Shooting Star - Loituma

Hmmm I'll tag:

I, er, um, dare I say it? Ok, I changed my layout. Don't know if I will keep it, but it is one of the new styles, so I decided to try it. I have noticed one fluke though...it doesn't like IE on Macs (anyone using IE on a Mac anyway? for shame!). For some strange reason, it just doesn't show up right, but I am told it is ok on Windows IE. If you have a problem seeing it, lemme know, 'k?

Tried to negotiated a *squall* between my apartment and my car this morning.

Tried to negotiate a parking lot long puddle that was at least as wide as I am tall, and at least ankle deep. Yeah, I failed that one.

Walked around the office in my socks today, except for on my breaks when I went outside; shoes still damp when I left work.

Had I been a little quicker in responding to light on my way home, I would've been broadsided by a guy in an SUV on his cell phone.

Oops. I slept longer than I had wanted to. I will say this though, I had some fucked up dream. A few of you all were in the dream too. Even those of you I only know from here. I met one of you in person for the first time, only you looked different in my dream than your icon (though somehow I recognized you), and I was mauled by others. My throat was sore as it was in the dream when I woke up too. Was I mauling myself in the dream? I felt like I had been choking.

It was all very odd and surreal.

Why couldn't Neil have sung more songs with Electronic? I think that when he was in the band it was the best combination: Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys, Bernard Sumner from New Order, and Johnny Marr from The Smiths. Could you pick a better group of musicians? But I vastly prefer Neil's singing voice to Bernard's, so I wish he had sung more songs when he was with them.

#1 Hot, buff, naked man in angel wings. For the sake of art.

#2 Four funny lads from that country above us, who know Orlando boy bands better than we do. Eh. :)

Heh heh...

[livejournal.com profile] lorelei_aisling and I have decided to run off to the island of Pag off the coast of Croatia, cook their yummy food in Le Creuset cookware, while listening to some music.

:)

All right, it's off to bed for me kiddies!

Reunited with an old friend from high school tonight. Thanks Kris. It is good to know someone else feels the same way about high school as I did. I did a sort of disconnect with most people there, minus a few really close people. It is also nice to know that neither of us have really changed much. We are both older and married and look relatively the same as we did back then. We each have kids (in our own way*), still like the same music, but have mellowed out a bit too. Hopefully we will get together soon. The reminiscing has been fun tonight, and I suspect more will come as we get reunited more, but building new memories is even more fun. :)

*Well, taking care of a husband can be just as hard as a child! Especially when they are really just big babies anyway. :)
