Had yummy Chipotle for a late lunch. Had a veggie burrito with both black beans and pinto beans. Technically the pinto beans weren't vegetarian...I think they had pork in them. I didn't care, because I am *not* a vegetarian; I just order non-meat options from time to time. It was yummy, though I have half of it left because it was made as big as my head. :P
Headed to Borders for a bit after lunch, and then off to the Millenia Mall. Chas said I just missed Lesley and Jared in the Apple Store by mere minutes (I had to go to a different store for a few minutes first). Black Nano iPod. *drool* I wanted to go into Macy's because I still have my gift cards to use, and I wanted to look at a few things I have seen online, in person. But we did not have much time in the mall, because we had to hop across the parking lot and go to Mimi's Cafe for belated birthday dinner for his dad. And once we had finished eating, and saw the sky outside turn an evil shade of dark, we left and came home, so here I am, cozy in my jammies, at the computer.
I feel like lying down and closing my eyes. Maybe I will read some more of The Subtle Knife...lots of little plot twists, some of which I could forsee, are forming in the story. I am about halfway done with the book.
Maybe I will make some jasmine oolong tea to sip while I read. Sounds good...

I decided to make the tea journal on blogger to use the skin from Adagio. So I went to the pages, set it up, did a post and such, but just wasn't happy using blogger, so I deleted it. I mean, it looked fine and all; I just did not like the behind the scenes stuff. I also had immense trouble publishing the first post. If they come up with an lj skin or template, I will make one here. Or, if someone is good with code can look at the skins for blogger and convert them to lj, I could do that too.
Wow, I just finished watching Part 1 (of 17) 2 hour episodes of Canada: A People's History. This first part focused on the early beginnings, with the First Nations people, and the Europeans desire to find an alternate way to China, and the interactions. Also, the influential people who have left a legacy hundreds of years later. I learned a lot, and I hope to learn more as we watch more episodes.
Oh god, dinner was good! It was fancy, in a simplistic way. We had "Dinner For Two" from Bertolli. It is basically a frozen "skillet style" meal from the guys who make olive oil. We had the Roasted Chicken and Linguine variety...it was roasted chicken breast fillets, melted mozzarella cheese and zucchini paired with a mellow tomato basil sauce. Aside from it being high in sodium (tomato sauce and a little bit of preservatives as the last ingredients) it seems to be relatively healthy looking too. No funky ingredients til the preservatives near the bottom of the list. It was neat actually...the package had the linguine frozen into 4-5 little nests, the chicken and zucchini chunks, and the tomato sauce and mozzarella cubes. Heat in skillet for 10 minutes. Not only did it taste good, but it actually tasted like an authentic Italian dish (at least to me...Jan might argue otherwise :P ) and not just some ordinary frozen meal. I am going to try a few of the other varieties. Chas ate it, zucchini and all, because it was nicely balanced he said. Yay! He ate some veggies! :D
I also made garlic breadsticks from Pilsbury. I hadn't had them in a long time, and now I remember why...they're kinda weird. But they went with the meal well, so that is good. I'd rather have made some focaccia bread instead, but the mix I used to get is hard to find these days.
I think I will make some of the gingerbread tea now. I am loving my Adagio teas. I just saw on the website that they have Blogger skins...I am tempted to make a Blogger account just to use one of the skins...maybe like a tea diary. I may just set it up solo at first, and if someone wants to share the space, well, then I will share it gosh darn it, so long as it stays on the subject of tea (and not just limited to Adagio--I love other teas too!). So what do you guys think?

My FREE weekend!!
22 October 2005 14:31I slept in this morning. Yay! I have dreamt that the ice cream truck going by sold Lunapads. Heh. I got up and made a mutant blueberry muffin. Basically, I made the mix (open packet, add milk, mix) and poured the mixture into my mini oval baker from Pampered Chef. Cooked about 15 minutes (package said 14-17 minutes) in the oven. It was kind of an experiment...I don't like the old muffin tins we have, nor do I have cups to line the tin, so I decided to bake one large muffin, kinda like a sweet bread. I wasn't sure it would work, but it did, and I did not have to change the recipe or directions at all.
( Mutant Muffin )
I had some of my new Darjeeling tea with the muffin while I caught up on last night's Degrassi episodes. Poor JT...
I also watched a little bit of travel programs...Rick Steves (or as Chas and I like to say "Nerd" Steves) actually brought his family on one his trips. Fucking finally! I mean, this guy has been doing travel programs for a long time. This was the first time I saw his family. They were in Ireland. I want to go there. I want to go back to Europe. Scandinavia especially, and the Balkans. My personality matched Finland as a country that meets my personality needs. Or something.
I have to start to get ready to head over to
nymphie's for the Drunken Pumpkin Party later.
Tomorrow, I hope to go to the MC Escher exhibit at OMA (Orlando Museum of Art) and maybe meet up with
lolaburns later for some Degrassi gossip or whatever. I am sure we will chat about something, right?
Ok, must shower to get ready for the party.

Yay! "The Penultimate Peril: Book the Twelfth" is out now!! First I must finish "The Subtle Knife" and then subsequently "The Amber Spyglass" to finish the His Dark Materials trilogy from Philip Pullman. Then I can to read the new LS book, though, to make it last longer, since the last book is not going to be out for another year, I should probably read the series from the start and build up to the new book. Oh the anticipation though!!! I have read them all up to this book, but it *has* been a while, and I did recently buy the first 3 in the box set. This would force me to get the others in the sets. I also have to read the 3 Doctor Who books Chas got me when he was in Victoria, and of course I need to re-read Harry Potter up to, and including, the latest, which I have already read. So many books. I am in for a long ride reading. :)
I should go to bed now, as I have to start getting up earlier in preparation for my new schedule next week. I have been uber lazy and going back to bed when I first wake up. It has to stop. I need to retrain myself to get up properly again or I am going to have issues with the new schedule.

Due to a mix up of email addresses, Adagio Teas sent me another $5 gift certificate. So, I changed the email on my account to the one they sent it to, which is the one I initially tried ordering with, but since the first gift certificate was sent to a different email, I had to use that one instead to redeem the gift certificate on my first order. Make sense? Anyhow, so I changed the email to the one the last gift certificate was sent to so I wouldn't have to make a new account and all my stuff would carry over. And it worked. I already have the herbal sampler, which has both fruit teas and herb teas, so I decided to make my own sampler of other teas. Here's what I ordered this time (all samples..$2-5 each).
( Ganmai Cha Green Tea )
( Snowbud White Tea )
( Dragon Pearl (aka Jasmine #12) Oolong Tea )
( Darjeeling No 2 Black Tea )

17 October 2005 03:19I am so happy that it is :finally: cooling off outside. Soon I will get to wear my sweaters and Old Navy Performance Fleece...I love that stuff! And I of course I can't wait til I can wear my wool pea coat. I don't want it to get too cold of course. :)
It reminds me of a time when Chas and I went to the First Thursday event a while back when our friend Doug did a glow stick paperbag mushroom installation. It was a nice brisk evening out. Here is a picture of the installation. This is one of many he does around town.

More are available here.

Yeah, many of you ladies out there have heard this one before...
I really love my Lunapads, and the Lunaladies are absolutely fabulous! I have to say that they are probably the best company I have ever dealt with. I could go on and on (ok, so I have!) about why I feel like this. But anyway, I can't wait til I can get up to Vancouver to thank the ladies in person some day. :)

14 October 2005 01:58So, I kinda freaked outside tonight while waiting for Chas to get me. I kept thinking I saw Mr Raccoon from last night. And I had tested the middle door going back inside the vestibule lobby thing after I got outside. And it was locked. So I stood closer to the door on the other side of the vestibule lobby thing, because at least I can badge in to open the doors and go to safety if I need to even if they are locked otherwise. Only it is harder to see Chas coming from there. I think I should just have him pick me up on that side of the building at night. Just in case. At least for now.
I need to go to bed now. I am trying to be more aware of the time. I am also going to mantra that I will get out of bed when I first wake up in the morning, which is usually about 10, instead of going back to sleep, as I have been lately. It has never really worked before, but hey, making a mental focus can be a powerful thing. Going to bed earlier than I have been should help.

13 October 2005 02:32Sometimes I get weirded out at work. Not the job per se, but the surroundings. As I have mentioned before, I live about 2 miles away from where I work, yet it is almost like a different world. I have to assume this is because our building is in a woodier area, and on a lake, but there are always frogs by the two main doors. One frog likes to just hang around on the lucite like overhang. I once saw a snake cross the sidewalk as I walked back to my building from the Nature's Table Cafe a few buildings away. It was not a huge thing, and it kinda went by really quick. One of my co-workers had to wait until a snake cleared off so he could get back inside, and he said he sees snakes all the time outside. Blergh. I hate snakes. I haven't seen any since my encounter, but I keep my eyes peeled, especially at night. Now tonight, while I was waiting for Chas to pick me up, I heard a rustle in the bushes...and there was a raccoon. Heh. Wild. :P
